I was on an alliance heavy server (Malygos) and some nights I never got into AV.
It also allowed dead servers to find people to quest with, find people to run dungeons with, and find people to do raids with. Which is great for the dead server, but kills the community of a thriving server. I agree that dead servers are a problem, but cross realm technology should never have been the solution. Let the dead servers die and merge with the servers everyone is playing on.
In classic this cross realm only applied to battlegrounds, not the entire game.
It was in vanilla so it will be on this too. I am pro xrealm bgs. Sometimes I had a 30 min que back in the day until they implemented it. I donāt want to go back to those days. I also want to play on a sever with no streamers so I can enjoy the game and lets face it, if they donāt implement this and I go into a low pop sever ( like i plan to avoid streamers and their zombie low IQ fans) Iāll be stuck with crap ques.
I feel like we can be pro low queue times and against cross realm battlegrounds. That was the only thing Blizzard could come up with 15 years ago.
How many people would be on a server? You might be right, but I was hoping there would be at least 100K stable population, maybe 6000 per realm? Would need more than 10 servers if so.

You canāt have one without the other. They are using patch 1.12 which had the cross realm bg. Call it a wart we all donāt want, but we actually have all already claimed that we do want it.
We cannot be hypocrites and say no to x y and z changes being done to classic, and then demand a change of our own asking for no cross realm battlegroundsā¦
From what I remember theyāre using a 7.0+ version with 1.12 data so they also have CRZ/LFR/LFD technically, but those are disabled. CRBG should be disabled as well, at least until Phase 5 if weāre really doing #nochanges.
Warts in classic would be the old version of AV. The 1,12,1 is the current way things are. I want the warts. I want the day long avs.

That makes no sense. LFR/LFD were not around in 1.12 patch. Cross realm BGās wereā¦ I see what you are ātryingā to say, but it holds no valid point at all, in any conversation.
If xrealm BGs stay Iām not sure how long classic will last since it seems like the major of players are going to pvp. Feels like they are setting this up for failure, BUT I could be wrong and hope Iām wrong about this.
We donāt want cross realm battlegrounds, we also though would like more specs viable to be able to raid etc. however, once we start changing things. It never really stops.
Best to just go with the 1.12 patch and call it a day.
I lol too because u can tell the majority of the people on this forums were screaming no changes over and over, and when they found out cross realm bgs was a thing in 1.12 they freaked outā¦ I truly wonder how many ppl actually played, let alone remember classic, or are just going off what they see and hear.
Yeah, itās funny that the ālol, warts and all, eat it no changers, lolā people are supportive of blizzard choosing the least warts and all version to base classic on.

It does not matter how much people fight this one. Cross Realm battle grounds will be involved. However I think if they push 5K to 10K server pops queues should be local first before searching the battle group for a BG.
I too donāt want crbgs or layers. Itāll kill it for me.
