I can que pretty much everything in the game with my horde friends except random bgs (and random dungeons for some reason)
Would be REAL COOL if i was able to que w friends for these modes. is there a reason why we cant? Esp when literally everything else is cross faction, why restrict it here.

Random bgs are like the last bastion of Horde vs. Alliance faction conflict.
IMO, Blizzard should enable cross-faction teams so they can improve matchmaking for random bgs.

I do a lot of WPVP when I’m not in instances. I admittedly prefer faction vs. faction, but I have to say that if it weren’t for the DF wpvp quests being free-for-all, I’d be bored looking for Horde to fight.
I think factions is fine for WPvP but the Horde vs Alliance setup may be out dated. Maybe some kind of opt in faction type of thing.

Can you merc mode and queue with friends? Does merc mode still exist?
Last I saw alliance can merc, but they’d have to sync the CD with their horde friend(s) through pm, cross faction community, or voice comms.
Would be really nice to have cross faction BGs. Blizz could add a toggle to turn it off for those who don’t want to.*

*Actually I guess if someone were to toggle off cross faction, they’d probably have atrocious queue times. But that’s fine with me if that’s what they want.
Yeah I don’t see how it could be that hard to just deal with cross faction the same way as merc mode and just turn player x into the same faction as player y.

However, nothing there suggests they are making random and random epic BG cross faction. It says they want to allow cross faction queues for “full groups”, so a 5 person group can be cross faction and queue for normal/heroic dungeons, but a group of 4 cannot. They want to keep cross faction opt-in (except for solo q rated pvp modes).
In random BGs, a full group is only 5 people and also cannot include the enemy team. They are not gonna make these cross faction any time soon.
Common sense says they will do it sometime in TWW which they do imply in this article. I would personally welcome this change.

I don’t see where they imply it, but i do agree it should be done as a way to improve the matchmaking in randoms/random epics. Plus the fact that atomic recalibrator and the new gleeful glamour items are usable in pvp kind of contradicts their “opt-in” stance. A team of 40 “orcs” can fight for the alliance in AV if everyone uses an orc glamour. These items even change the race listed on the tooltip for the players using them.
We hang out in every major city and dont attack one another. We work together to fight every conflict that arises in azeroth. The leaders of the factions are in every cut scene helping eachother. The factions are just plain hindering the game from becoming better at this point.
That still sucks for anyone who doesn’t have 4 friends online to queue with at a time.
I should be able to queue for anything with my Horde friend, whether that’s using dungeon finder or a battleground. From playing Blitz and arena, nobody cares that there’s people of the opposite faction on your team.
May as well do x faction. What exactly are they trying to preserve? The lore? lol….that went out the window when they went down an entire xpac trying to kill the nipple king and Sylvanus …
Nobody cares anymore! You’ve ruined lore and writing just make the game enjoyable. There is nothing left to preserve
