Why is the system so restrictive? Either allow it or don’t. I can join random dungeons with a full cross-faction group, but if I only have two people, it’s not allowed. What’s the point of this arbitrary limitation besides needlessly restricting players?
Because it’ll hurt the WoW purists that insist on no cross faction if you end up in a group with them. Can’t be hurting feelings, now can we?
This has light sarcasm btw.
They have to recode things that have been in the game since the beginning. It’s a slow process. It’s probably just as well so people get used to play cross faction so the vocal people who don’t want cross faction play chill out. Just like how people chilled out about warlocks to all races, at least for the most part.
Most people just want quicker queues and don’t care if they group with the other faction but there are still people who only one to play with their faction. Maybe blizz will make it an opt in or opt out type of thing. But I hope it’s sooner rather than later.
That would only hold up if it wasn’t possible during MoP remix by inviting someone to the party after you started the role check but before your got your dungeon pop-up. The reason they’ve stated they don’t add cross faction in qued content is they don’t want people to be “forced” to be in a cross faction group
I always thought dks should be able to talk to horde players that are horde side
We’re all knights of the ebon blade
- It’s not “arbitrary.” Y’all need to stop using that new buzzword.
- Blizzard has told us at least twice that it’s because they don’t want players to feel forced into cross faction groups in LFD.
How is arbitrary a new buzz word? It’s been a word for over 600 years.
I’m just trying to play with friends from the opposite faction, so that restriction makes absolutely no sense.
Too bad this already happens in follower dungeons, the excuse is paper thin lol
Weird because it was working with no issue when Pandaria Remix was out. Didn’t need a full group and could queue cross faction and then they removed it.
Nothing to do with it taking time, they’ve actively chosen not to allow cross faction queuing outside of full groups.
This isn’t true, its already in the game. They just have to enable it. (I tested it out in a few ways and can confirm you can get into a random dungeon with opposing factions with a little leg work… )
This isn’t at you but a general curiosity if they had expanded on this, as a player who has now spends most of my max level time playing with in the realm of LFD when I do I don’t really see the issue with playing in a group with the Alliance/Horde races. Especially since there are a lot of lines blurred already with allied races, pandaren, and blood/void elves.
We have cross faction players in follower dungeons, who are sometimes prone to acting ridiculous towards opposite faction players?
You and I may not care. But there are others who do and Blizz doesn’t wish to force opposite faction players onto others right now.
It could change in the future. But for now, this is their compromise.
What we have is these supposed players that Blizzard is trying to “save” from either being supposedly confused or outraged with why they would be suddenly working with the opposite faction, able to queue for a solo follower dungeon and get that exact experience no matter what faction you are (very commonly my followers were a Worgen Hunter and an Orc Shaman).
And this is the feedback that the compromise is terrible and does nothing but come off as a half-baked idea, M+ and Raids are already a non-issue when it comes to this since those aren’t separated into horde or alliance only groups, its only purpose anymore is a hurdle when people just want to play the game together and don’t have a full set of 5 people to do lower end content with when they are on opposite factions for a variety of reasons.
They don’t even have to force it on to people, all that would have to be done is something like an Opt-in or out depending on what the default setting should end up being.
You can do m+ already and guess what it’s not even a problem
put the crappy orc halloween masks on any alliance i get grouped with and i’ll be cool with it
There’s already a opt-in/out feature check box for limiting to your own faction when using the normal LFG system. Why this isn’t implemented into dungeon finder is beyond me.
But, but… why would alliance kill van?
Answer, 20+ years of the valley has most not give 2 craps. That dwarf will die just for having us in the valley 1000 times later. Clearly the dude is a failed leader lol. Time to frag an officer!
Or…van is a dreadlord. Thanks to sl we have learned most things are dreadlords. So its now a kill the dreadlord run.
This…doesn’t make any sense outside of RP servers. It just doesn’t.
Exactly.
Then report them for a ToS violation instead of coddling people who can’t play a video game without behaving badly.
The questlines and campaign stories have us work together all the time. If you can “force” (and I use that word with the raised eyebrow it deserves) players to work alongside people like Jaina and Thrall cross-faction, then doing a dungeon with a Gnome or a Troll should not be an issue.
I get it. It doesn’t upset me or anything. It’s not a problem I encounter on a regular basis. But OP has a very good point. Allow it or don’t. This halfway mess is a mess.
Cuz horde and ally dont like each other
NPCs aren’t players. They don’t act ridiculous and toxic towards opposite faction players. They don’t care what faction you are. Some players do. That is what Blizz is currently looking at.
And no one is stopping you from voicing your feedback. But it isn’t half-baked. There is still faction divide in the playerbase. This is the testing grounds. They’ll look at metrics and decide later, most likely, to open it up for all LFD.
That splits up the LFD queue even more.
See above.
Considering some of the hostility we’ve seen on various platforms from some weirdos in this game, it does. Again, Blizz is testing out how far they can go. Give it time.
