Cross-faction improvements

Please address the following issues:

  1. Allow cross-faction to post in trade chat for crafting professions or make a new channel dedicated to professions with any faction access. Trade chat for alliance is not exactly dead but almost on my server.

  2. Allow alliance/horde players to trade each other out of instance. Biggest issue after mythic+ for trading gear. Most players hearth or take mage portal to the city and when they want to trade gear, they are unable to do so cross-faction. They have to fly to the nearest dungeon to create an instance. This is not convenient at all.

  3. Allow guilds to invite any faction any time. Right now, you have to have a horde character invite a horde character or an alliance character invite an alliance character.

  4. Allow both factions to message one another, even when not in a group or same server.

Add to this, allow us to cross faction open world content. They already allow both factions to tag the same rares, world bosses and some elites, just let us quest together regardless of faction.

You can do this if you btag friend the person you are inviting.

yea… but it’s a pain to add every single person you want to invite, by going through an extra step by being bnet friends.

Allow cross faction random battlegrounds. I have a ton of alliance and horde toons and it would be nice to not have to pick a certain one just because the person i want to play with is horde or alliance.

Also getting rid of factions in random bgs would also get rid of the whole “oh why does the alliance/horde always win, it’s not fair!” stuff.

These barriers are hard-coded into the game and would require huge rewriting to make happen. And god only knows what they’d screw up in the process.

I thought alliance and horde playing together was code-breaking? If this can be done, the other stuff can be done too. May take some time, but it’s a better game play life improvement and would be good for the game.

Not in instances, no. Instances are little bubble-universes where anything can happen. We’ve known this since Blizzard implemented mercenary mode for battlegrounds in WoD when Alliance players were complaining about long queue times due to their overwhelming numerical dominance in PvP.

Open world is a different story entirely.

It’s really annoying helping my friend with outdoor content but if we’re playing different factions, I can’t buff or heal them, or rez them if they die. Really don’t see the logic in not allowing xfaction to work outside of instances when it all works perfectly fine in them.

They’ll probably save all the cross-faction improvements for the next expansion, and I could see them making announcements for it at the next Blizzcon. Of course, this is Blizzard so they probably won’t just to spite me.
