Cross-Faction Guilds

Hi, I was about to switch on of my characters to the horde when I noticed there were considerable restrictions to cross-faction guilds. Is it still true that I would not be able to queue dungeons with my guildies and that I wouldn’t be able to do outdoor content with them? If so, is there a plan to be able to do that at one point ?

I feel that with these restrictions, the feature is pretty much useless.

ya they need to make it so Cross faction can do Random raids and ALL raids

I wouldn’t count on it.

The devs insist cross-faction needs to be opt-in, so queuing is disabled on purpose.

Removing outdoor world restrictions basically removes the last piece of real faction separation.

The feature is still useful for pre-made group content.

They already put the ability to only have same faction apply for premade, would it be that hard to put that switch on a queue as well?

I suspect not, but they seem disinclined to do it. They seem to be approaching all cross-faction content with caution. They seem afraid that if they go too far then some massive group of diehard Horde players are going to be furious that theirs a Night Elf in their group.

There is apparently a rather complex way of getting your alt into a crossfaction guild.

How do I go about inviting my xfaction alts to my guild?

Still works as of 22 June 2024. Note that you only need your GM and your first cross-faction alt to join the Community if the alt can post recruitment ads once promoted to Officer. Only content you can walk in the door of an instance can you do cross faction.

Probably not.

1. Many quests are faction specific.
2. Blizz doesn’t want people to feel forced to run with opposite faction in auto queued content.

Best we can hope for is them allowing full groups to queue for dungeons.

That alone would be enough for me to consider switching an alt to the horde. I udnerstand that questing can be very complicated, but at least let us queue for content…

Cross faction can do Random raids and ALL raids

and use the lfg tool for 5 mans.

Just because I think alliance is lame doesn’t mean I shouldn’t be able to play with my lame friends who are lame.
