YES! FINALLY! Now random dungeon groups won’t have to wait as long–
[Emphasis mine]
OH COME ON! Just pull the trigger already and make dungeoning fully cross-faction already! Add a “Only queue with same faction” checkbox for all two people who are just that averse to seeing the other faction in a PvE instance.

There’s a minority of losers holding back the system who will whine if they’re in a group with a vulpera or a night elf.
Break down all the barriers.

yes, break down the barriers ( though this is EXACTLY the way it was done in remix curiously enough)

This is such a dumb restriction, it doesn’t really help anyone. If I want to play with one or two friends who are crossfaction how does this help us? We still need 2 people. Now we gotta somehow convince randoms to join our group which defeats the point of the dungeon queue in the first place.
Literally you refuse us the ability to play with people who are in our own guild unless we make a full group. And nobody is searching LFG for non M+ dungeons btw. Kind of hard to just get to the point where we can actually do M+'s if when we’re trying to just chill, relax, and level together and we already hit a massive pointless roadblock. Then we just give up and decide to play other games who don’t prevent you from playing with others.
Like this is the same patch where they’re trying to buff racials for underplayed races. So the whole “Well just go make characters on the same faction hur hurr” doesn’t apply. Maybe I want to actually play a forsaken once in awhile? So now I’m just banned from playing with my alliance only focused friends? Maybe I like a certain racial, and they like a different racial, and the classes we played with our favored racials are on opposite factions. Again, you limit and restrict us… Maybe I just like the aethsetics and animations of a certain race and identify with it the most, and they happen to feel the same with the opposite faction race. So one of us has to bite the bullet to have fun?
Why put this in your game? Who CARES about this? They can please continue to sniff farts in their single faction groups if it matters that much to them. I don’t want to hear the “Well they may feel forced to join cross faction queues since their queues would be slower” OH YOU DONT SAY?! LIKE HOW IM FORCED TO PICK A FACTION I DO NOT WANT TO PLAY JUST TO PLAY WITH FRIENDS?!! HMMMM?

I feel like this restriction can’t be what the devs wanted, but some kind of technical issue they can’t currently circumvent. That was true in the past for various cross-faction activities, and over time, the devs worked it out. Trying to stay optimistic here.
20 years of watching this dev team do unexplainable things makes me think otherwise.

they could literally make a server for the people who don’t want to cross faction and then give everyone in the game a free server transfer to allow them to go there. it’s that freaking simple.
their “compromise” is stupid and a half measure.
I think it’s fair to say though that they have made steady forward progress in terms of easing cross-faction restrictions, right? Every few months or at least every year there’s more and more progress. I’m sure it can’t be easy to untangle a decade or more of technical code that was originally designed to keep two factions completely distinct from each other.
This is so half baked. Why even bother if this is the solution? Please reconsider, we are begging you.
There is little stopping them from fully unlocking it. Partial cross-faction groups were possible in Remix by inviting a friend of the opposite faction after your group had already joined queue; though the behavior Blizz has stated where your group won’t backfill if someone leaves was also present there. If it’s a larger technical hurdle to fix the second part, fine, but otherwise this limitation is silly.
The number of M+ dungeons I’ve seen listed with Alliance Only enabled since cross-faction grouping was added is zero. Zilch. Nada. Not a single one. The minority who care about seeing the other faction are probably less than 1% of active retail players.
Please remove all group restrictions. Don’t forget open world grouping, too. Thank you.
Yes, remove all of the faction group restrictions. The WAR in Warcraft was gone long ago, now ppl just want to play with their friends and get LFR/RDF and PvP done quickly, with the faction barrier removed LFR and RDF queues will pop much faster and I don’t care seeing dia— mecha gnomes in my group, that’s the only boon from the faction restrctions right now.

@blizzard
just make this feature a toggle able feature like talking to the npc for enabling cross faction queing or not, much like merc mode for pvp which if you enabled that should allow you to x-faction pvp too which also would be great for dealing with the pre-made groups.
