Cross Breeds in WoW

You would think that in a world of different sentient races, there would be some cross breeding going on. Some of you would say, “There is no way a Blood Elf would mix with a Tauren.” I know people, and there are always the sexually-deviant. So yes, I could see Trolls mixed with Orcs, Humans or Dwarves mixed with Gnomes, Blood Elves mixed with Night Elves, and even Pandaren mixed with Tauren. How about a half Human/Goblin?

Some of you are disgusted with this subject, but some of you are intrigued or even breaking into a little mischievous grin while your thoughts start to wander.

No. Just no.

No, since they don’t share genes.

They’d have to have a common ancestor, for that to even produce a sterile result (such as a Donkey and Horse, producing a mule.)

Meanwhile, we (basically being cro mangnons) could breed with Neanderthals. So I’ve heard that something like 5 percent of humans have some Neandrathal DNA.

That would be impossible, for example. Any existing player species mixing with a Pandaren would be impossible.

Again, impossible.

Elves might be able to mix with elves, if they shared a common ancestor.

Draenei anyone would be impossible, of course (well, except regular Draenei and Lightforged.)

This isn’t to say they could not “get busy”, there would just be no resulting offspring.

i think a Tauren is too much woman for a Belf.

How do you account for anomalies in other fantasy realms, like half orcs, halflings, half elves?

Murloc x gnome. make it happen.
And make sure you record it. for uh… science.

These ‘shelter at home’ orders really need to be lifted quickly.

I want a cross breed cross breed.

If Tauren and a Gnome had a child. Then a Goblin hooked up with whatever that kid is.

Of course this very mixed child would have access to druids. WIth this as its balance druid form.

No since they don’t share genes

That explanation went out of the window. Garona is a Half Orc Half Draenei, two races that originated from two different planets… it’s just not a thing in WoW.

WoW doesn’t follow real world genetics. Elves and humans can have offspring together despite not being genetically related at all

Some races have common ancestry so cross breeding isn’t improbable, others do not have a common ancestor (as far as we know).
Elves descend from trolls, humans from Titan constructs, not sure why they can breed. Orcs and Draenei come from different planets, not sure why they can breed.

Is this what this game has become? There is major gameplay issues that need to be fixed, and you bring up cross breeding??? You should check out a game called “sims” it would be more up your alley

Hi, genetics major here.

The amount of non HomoSapien admixture is actually quite remarkable.

We have not even identified all of it.

East Asians are mostly (based on what is currently identified, to my knowledge) HomoSapien, Denisovan, and lastly, Neanderthal

Europeans, so, for instance, Celts, and Germans, again with the same caveat, are primarily HomoSapien, and Neanderthal.

This admixture is substantial enough to consider the respective populations unique species, in my educated opinion.

There is currently some very fascinating research into non HomoSapien admixture among West Africans, and Sub-Sarahans!

Last note here

Considering Elves, as we know them, are a reflection of the Germanic/Teutonic peoples, and the humans of WoW being obviously inspired by European mythology, especially with respect to German myth, it would not be too far off to assume that the Elves of WoW could interbreed with the Humans.

I am, of course, applying real life to a video game of which I lack any privileges with respect to writing, and lore  "

(btw Blizzard, please alter your filters to allow the first word in ‘homosapien’ this is a dangerous precedent to set for science!)

As a research biologist, the only relevant answer I can give is this:

While I like the idea, I think it is too many options.

The ones that make sense to me personally are human/NE and troll/blood elf. Trolls are related to elves after all. Humans and elves do make offspring in most fantasy books.

Nothing is impossible.

Problem is there are already mixed species in game and have been around for years.

1: Arator as well as Vereesa’s twins (human\elf)
2: Lantresor of the Blade and Garona (orc\ draenei)
