I keep forgetting to inquire about this. My character (Gnome Rogue who died in the encounter) at the time was L6 and the mob (Crag Boar) was L5, but the damage done by the crits is about the same as what was encountered (on a recreate of the previous character) by mobs almost twice as high in level later that same day. I was hoping to share the screenshot of the “what happened to me” log, but this is not allowing me the option to add an image. That being the case, I am only left with the option to see if others have noticed similar & if it is indeed a bug.
Boars hit hard.
Pay less attention to combat logs and more attention to staying alive.

Logs were checked after death, not during combat.

I mean, you got chunked by a lvl 5 boar, which was passive.
That tells me you were low on health when you attacked him.
It wasn’t the crit that killed you, it was the lack of preparation.

Please tell me again how those last two were not either crits or a bug in the damage output of the boar.

There was no “chain pull” being done. I attacked a single boar and was walking backwards hitting it to get more kills/XP on my way to Kharanos from the tunnel leaving the starting zone. Now please stop trolling, and allow for honest feedback on what actually occurred.
Boars charge and do bonus damage. If it crits it can chunk like 60% of your life in one hit at low levels on a cloth/leather character. They are dangerous on untwinked characters. If you’re a melee you should stay in melee range, they charge when at a distance. Pull them with full HP and at appropriate levels (even or higher level character) if you’re not twinked.

You can gouge the Boar’s charge and avoid a lot of damage, maybe your next rogue will have more luck ^^
Do rouges have gouge at lvl 6?
I would think walking up to it and stabbing it is the more effective way to prevent a charge.

Boar charge can crit as high as 60 damage at level 6. The level 8 ones can crit above 120 damage with rank 2 charge.

I guess that would work if you’re going to range pull at low health.
Its good to tag mobs if there are a lot of ppl. You can pull 2 throws and follow with gouge + bs

I usually just wander across the road if it’s super busy.
This has been a productive thread. I learned a little about rouges, subby learned a little about boars, we all learned the real reward is the friends we made along the way.
