What is everyone’s opinion of Crimson Tempest now that we have access to our season 2 tier set? I am not sure if taking Crimson is worth the trade off scenarios of reworking some talent points. Has anyone had any experiences with testing Crimson that have resulted in any conclusions? Thanks
Youre likely not playing Sin Rogue in any situation that would necessitate the usage of Crimson Tempest.
In M+ and just about 2 bosses in the current raid CT is good to use. I mostly M+ so I’ve been using it all xpac. It’s not the largest of our AoE, but it contributes enough to get, especially with our new set bonus.
Ex: Here it is in a 17VP https://i.imgur.com/bJ5YrIp.png
It’s usually in the 4th or 5th spot.
Wrong. Its the go to in mythic plus
Which a +4 and a couple +2s aren’t really situations that demand it. (The OP history.)
Thank you for the responses. I’ll spec into Tempest and get the hang of the gameplay.
Reread my comment and then tell me exactly why im wrong.
Figured you were talking about sin rogue in general, not them specifically.
My b.
It follows pretty simple rules. Keep it up on 2-6 targets, I put it up on a boss if i am going to be out of melee range for a bit. On 7+ targets, once ruptures are out, just spam it as your main spender.
You should never spam it. You will always benefit more from envenom PB procs. Just make sure it doesn’t fall off.
Only spam it on 7+, the instant damage it does before the dot does a lot of damage. It basically acts as black powder for the bigger packs.
PB is going to outperform CT even at 7+ targets. This isn’t Shadowlands where we didn’t have the option of one or the other, and we were forced to spam CT. PB plus the envenom itself is going to do far better for your dps not to mention the envenom proc for increased poison application. All while letting your CT tick and only reapplying with a couple seconds left.
Thanks for the responses. Making sure I understand: on 7+ mobs, hit Crimson Tempest, then full envenom for poison bomb procs until Crimson needs to be reapplied.
Pretty much. I personally will use CT on 3+. Not 1 or 2 unless you have to run away for some dot damage while you’re away. 2 you just keep up your garrote and rupture on both and single target one down.
Awesome. What about Fan of Knives? Is there a scenario when FoK is recommended in place of CT & PB?
I will also only FoK at 3+. Otherwise, mutilate for generation 1 to 2.
Oh yeah, got it. FoK as the generator on packs, but still do the CT and PB routine. Thanks again
