I’ve already queued into matches with friends just by queuing at the same time around 10pm est early s4, that’s without any mmr matchmaking. People getting into matches with people they know will inevitably happen. Just a matter of how manipulable it is and whether or not people try to do that.
Also as a side I saw some people go 5-1 or 4-2 in rated solo shuffle and lose points for those matches. Seems kinda sketch if the mmr matchmaking is too loose you get into matches that are so low even if you win the majority you still lose points.
So unless that was a bug I would think the matchmaking would have to be stricter in terms of mmr difference to prevent this. That would make a matches with familiar faces more frequent.
I mean people can still just /afk when they are on a team with him, no?

where we disagree is whether adding rating and some rewards to shuffle will result in more participation than unranked or less-i think it’s very likely gonna be more for the same reason ranked arena gets more players than skirms do

I feel like solo q is going to massively favor classes with very little setup/communication required. For example, today it would be classes like fury war, bm hunter, dk, ww, dh, and maybe aff lock.
I just don’t like the name “soloist”. All I can think of is some sort of solo music performer. Doesn’t sound cool like “gladiator” or “hero of the alliance/horde”

Well I guess that’s gonna nice since I’m already the top na player with best win% with most games played on drustvar. They should give something special to the top 1 player in solo shuffle. It would make a lot of people mad when they see a prot paladin being the top 1 even with rating added to the bracket.

Lol what man? So you faced up against a bunch of very low rated players and won some games and think you need a reward? MMR wasn’t even factored into any of your wins. Also, Drustvar isn’t even accurate, I just checked it and my main isn’t even ranked and I have won over 2000 games. It’s only accurate if you go manually update it and most people do not do that.
especially for people who dread social interactions in the first place.

If the queues are anything like the current solo shuffle, DPS are going to be sitting in 10 min queues while healers get in insta. That might be a turn off to those who just don’t have the time.
They’re not going to though, Tank will be the fotm because you dont have to be better than all the dps or healer, you just have to be better than the other tank. It’s going to be free rating.
They need to be able to q into healers.
