Crest/Valorstone Caps

I get having caps before and during RfWF and M+ Invitational, but once those are done I see no reason to have a cap. I seem to be (I am sure I am not that only one) capped on Runed/Guilded crests on Tuesdays after upgrading Carved and Weathered crests.

Just so annoying that I cannot upgrade gear as I gain it til the next week. I am sure this has been on the forums many times over now, so I do apologies about the repeat.

Valorstones are being made transferrable and the crest cap removed in 2 weeks.

They always remove the crest cap mid season.

During this event, Hero and Myth upgrade tracks will extend 2 upgrades (from 6 to 8), the cap for Crests is lifted, and Valorstones become Warbound for the remainder of the season. Mythic+ drop rates for Warband until Equipped gear are also being doubled.

[Updated 4/24] Kick The War Within Season 2 Into Turbo Boost May 13!

I understand that, I am just saying its too long after the RfWF/M+ Inv are over. They need to redo the structure, thats all.

The entire point of crests is to steadily increase your power even if you don’t get item drops. The cap has nothing to do with any esports/blizzard events.

Valorstone cap is pointlessly low though.

There is still progression raiding happening after the RWF though. Having gradual ilvl progression to be able to overcome challenging content is preferable to jumping 12+ ilvl when crests uncap 2 weeks into a tier.

Currently with Blizzards new turbo boost experiment the crest uncapping is going to line up with HoF closing. That seems pretty ok.

Does anyone feel like gateing crest acquisition actually matters when myth track gear is also so heavily timegated?

Between hero track gear having 2 extra upgrades, crafted gear costing 60 crests every 2 weeks, vault, and drops from early mythic bosses absolutely. If we didn’t cap crests I’d have been 10 ilvl higher in week 3, at least.

Yea thats cool, they remove it when you dont need it anymore lol

IMHO the point of the caps is to prevent sweat lords from getting too far ahead and then crying that everyone else are “bads”.

While Blizzard can make the game grindier to slow down the sweat lords, that would slow it down for regular players too.

So caps it is. It’s easy to get power ups but they limit it so everyone is on a more balanced playing field.
