I’m going to be gearing up my warlock. Someone posted about a 5 crest discount on upgrades for alts. Is this true?

Yes. For example, if you have the achievement “Harbinger of the Weathered” on your main, any upgrades on alts will cost 10 Weathered Crests instead of 15. The same goes for Carved and Runed crests.
