If you downgrade your crests, the lower crest you are changing it too doesn’t count toward season cap. But what you are changing it from (the higher crest) doesn’t refund the seasonal cap. So you are effectively deleting good crests in exchange for worse crests which is never worth doing. Downgrading your crests should exist for players that want to continue doing the harder and more fun content but get the lower crests they need. I should be able to run +10s with my friends and cap both my gilded and runed for the week. But right now I would have to run 9s or higher to cap my gilded then try and convince my friends to do 7s with me to get runed. The gilded crests are very valuable to me as a m+ only player I can craft more mythic pieces and upgrade the ones I get from vault. But I ended up doing 9s and higher too fast because my play group is pretty decent at the game so I still have half my hero pieces not upgraded. Most of them raid so they don’t have this problem thus convincing them to do 7s with me is impossible. Now I have to pug 7s while my friends arent online to get runed. Just make the exchange refund the season cap of the higher crest, and the lower crest count toward the season cap. Its backwards right now and makes no sense, logically you should never downgrade crests.

I don’t see why this change couldn’t be made if the crests counted toward the cap they were made into.

But given your skill level you could smash some easy 4s-7s. I been doing that to help some of the new players in the gang.
