I currently have a 2h mace equipped at 684. I looted a new 2h mace, and when i go to upgrade it, it shows that i need 10 crests in green, as if the gilded discount is applying–but not the fact that it should only cost valorstones.
Anyone got any idea? seems like a clear bug, the gilded discount taking precedent over the fact that I already have unlocked an item in this slot at this ilvl.

No idea why it keeps changing. This character.
Do death knights need two weapons to access the crest free upgrades? What about casters if they swap between staff and a 1h+offhand? If not, it would lead to some quirks by moving weapons into different slots, upgrading them, then swapping them back.
and what’s the new 2-hand mace?

Really just a strange bug. Thankfully crests are uncapped so not as big a deal, but just doing my duty reporting a clear bug.
Best-In-Slots is a dual-use weapon (can convert between physical DPS STR/AGI and magic INT), so maybe the logic about weapon eligibility gets confused, thinking you’ve equipped a caster weapon.
Try unequipping it and reequipping it in its STR form.
