Crest Acquisition Improvements Coming Next Week in 11.0.7

At this rate just ask for a currency that’s a guaranteed drop that you can vendor for raid gear, FFXIV style.

Also would help prevent the P2W loot funnel boosting.

Considering progression raiding on Nexus Princess didn’t keep up with the weekly crest limit, that’s absolutely the content that has an issue with not enough crests. But now bricking a 7 gets more crests than downing late bosses so idk

People who only clear 4/8 mythic get, on average, 40% more mythic track loot per season than people who fill their M+ vault max every single week. Raid needs less drops, M+ needs more rewards.

Stop pretending like you need to M+ to mythic raid. it’s just false lol.

This does nothing to address the fact that mythic+ on ramping is atrocious. That a lot of people think they have stopped being fun in general also it just gives people more crests but doesn’t change how you acquire them.

Progression Mythic raiding keep pace with the crest cap until you are clearing up to silken court weekly. They just buffed crests from M+ when it is infinitely farmable for crests.

Fantastic improvements. Hopefully the gold and valorstone increases with key level are actually significant.

Next step (or should also be included in these changes) : Moving Myth 1/6 back to +8 where it was and should have stayed, and allowing higher Myth rewards for +9 and beyond.

And then after that:

  • Give M+ players a deterministic way to turn one Hero piece into a Myth piece per week, to almost make up for the item level gap between Mythic raiding and M+.
  • Increase the rate at which the raid buff scales and add stamina to it. It should be at like 20% now, not like 9%.
  • Improving Profession Knowledge catch-up, because getting 1-2 knowledge from a patron order doesn’t mean anything when you only get a few per day and you’re 200 points behind.

These changes don’t even come close to fixing M+. There should be no crest deduction. Lowering it to 4 will not incentivize players to finish a bricked key.

ok, but of that 40% more loot, it’s going to be a lot of duplicates, since if you’re only killing the 1st 4 bosses, you’re only getting loot from the 1st 4 bosses. Also, from M+, you’re getting more than 100% more hero gear, as well as the ability to farm the exact item you want.

And, as far as caster’s go, that’s only 1 meh trinket, so you’re still going to be using 2x heroic/M+ trinkets.

Well, that gap only exists because it’s almost impossible to find a mythic raider who doesn’t do M+. I don’t know why you act so surprised that X + Y > X.

Getting more crests on a failure in M+ (as well as full loot & vault) than you get for actually downing a boss isn’t enough? Really?

Ok, they key levels drop by 2 on failure.

Give a good reason as to why? It doesn’t affect you, solo players would just take longer.

This is a MASSIVE W!! I’d still like to see Gilded from +7s and maybe Delve 9 or 10s, but these changes will go a long way to solving many of the issues with M+

Glad this will be in S2, but too late. Entire guild has already stopped playing. Thanks for the molasses slow updates to things the community figured out 2 months ago.

Good changes. Would love to hear about plans for Mythic Raiids considering a lot of players don’t find the rewards for mythic raids worthwhile (or non-existent if you’re like my guild extensing until CE).

Often feels like M+ is my main gearing vehicle as opposed to raids (my preferred content) due to vault chances, and crafted gear generally being an abundance from M+.

I don’t want you to have it.

See thats more of a reason to have it then, especially since you can’t give a good reason to not.

i can - but it would go against the rules of these boards.

let us trade valorstones to alts for the LOVE OF THE GAME

We had to complete and time 106 dungeons to hit the cap before the cap was removed. It was absolutely needed. Their is a reason M+ participation is down over 58%. I want to play many more alts then I currently do, but it was a large undertaking just to try out new ways to play the game. And at this point in the season, their needs to be crest catch-up mechanics for alts coming into play on top of these changes. Right around the three month mark like we’ve approached, maybe even two and a half months to slow the drop-off. Season 2 participation numbers would be much higher if people had more characters around 630+ ilvl going into next season. Especially since the tier sets, tuning, how each class/spec deals with the mechanics in each dungeon, etc. will determine the meta for the season. Let’s say feral druid ends up being the meta as an example, you would have a significant increase in the number of people playing feral next season if we were given assistance now to get them closer to 630+ ilvl, instead of having us start from behind which may not be enough to bring players back.
