The recent changes to Dinars (requires mythic boss kill for mythic loot) indicate to me that Blizzard is trying to incentivize token sales by encouraging paid carries; however, some players might not be able to afford to purchase 30+ tokens to afford a carry (carries for gally 10 mil).
I think Blizzard should consider enabling financial services to be offered in-game by adding a loan feature where players get negative marks if they default on the loan. People who offer loans could set an interest rate and payment frequency, and if the borrower defaults they would have a reduced credit score so other players would either avoid offering that player a loan or would increase the interest rate to offset the higher risk. Additionally, I think there should be a way to garnish earned gold from quests / AH sales if the borrower has enough gold to cover their obligation.
This is too high brow for the WoW forums bro.
I dig it though.
people are really going overboard about this Dinar thing.
it can’t possibly be that serious.
The good thing about this feature is that it would create a larger base of players who have the funds to afford a carry; this in turn would allow the people providing the carry to charge a higher premium and thus further increase token sales. It’s a feedback loop that would be beneficial for both Blizzard and mythic guilds.
Let’s call them chips, please. We should not propagate Blizzard’s mis/disinformation on what this system actually is.
Absurd decisions deserve absurd responses. We’re going about as far over the top making fun of this as they missed the mark on what this feature should have been.
And honestly, the rollout of the mythic end of this, no matter how good-intended it was, pretty clearly net results in boosted mythic raid carries. Anyone who actually interacts with the community would’ve seen this coming. Unfortunately the devs prove once again that they live deep down under some rock well out of touch with the playerbase.
You were in another thread going on about player housing is to sell tokens. Like I get it, Blizzard is going to dip into that whale oil, but some of yall jump on anything you can do in this game and say it was for tokens.
This sounds fun until you don’t pay your loans and someone goes to your character’s house and breaks their knee caps giving them a semi permanent dps / hps debuff until they pay the gold back.
They should be forced to participate in warmode where anyone from either faction can attack them until they pay their amount owed.
Wait, wait… let me get my tinfoil hat. No no. This is serious. I am gunna need my armadillo hat for this one!
Okay.
Carry on.
It’s so dumb it loops around to become smart again
Interesting & fascinating stretch you got here…
they should watch out not to come off as too greedy or they’ll die like TV did
This would also be good for m+ as a way to filter out players who are unreliable. I have a feeling there is an overlap between players who don’t interrupt and those who don’t pay back their loans.
It’s not, but whining about everything is all these forums tend to be.
I just swiped my card for it. It was cheaper to spend $500 on tokens than it was to spend $1200 on a sketchy website so I went with the direct payment to Blizzard route.
Gotta protect yourself these days.
Hey there, friend, I have a bridge in Undermine to sell you.
I can’t afford it after purchasing a raid carry. We have to make sacrifices.
I hope everyone takes this as satire but know that nobody will.
Also how much is it for a gallywix carry? Asking for a friend.
Definitely not for me…if I can’t earn it, I believe I do not deserve it.
I think people has forgotten about working hard for what they want, and just want a easy/fast way to obtain it. Some things just aren’t for everyone, such is life.
The people who bust there tail off to get mythic gear/rewards deserve it…players who pay for it, imo, don’t .
This right here is why I think the concept of a “participation trophy” is bogus. If you didn’t place, work harder…try more. It raises folks to believe that everyone is entitled to everything because they played or in this case pay a sub. You have access to the content, that’s what paying a sub does… paying a sub doesn’t mean you should have everything handed to you.
Folks who can’t put in the time to do some of the things other can, I’m sorry that’s how it goes. Tbh, I’m one of those who doesn’t have the time to dedicate to the hours it takes to acquire mythic tier, and personally, I don’t deserve it since I can’t put in the effort required.
I know that’s probably much different what most think…but I’m old school, you work for what you want…you don’t expect it handed to you.
As for paying…that’s definitely not a issue at all, can I? Easily…Will I? No sir.
Take care y’all, have a wonderful night.
I’ve already sacrificed everything though.
