Creation Catalyst question

Nobody seems to have the answer to this after a search.

WHAT do you get when you put the non tier pieces in creation catalyst? Like 272 boots, they dont give you 2 or 4 set so what do they give you? A 272 pair of boots with rerolled random stats?

Dunno. I assume it’s going to spit out whatever the corresponding off-set piece is for your class’s appearance.

Like, if a hunter puts some boots in, you get an ilvl appropriate version of this:

But I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Nvm, looks like I’m wrong, based on the link posted below.

Provided a link to a wowhead guide, goes through all the pieces for each class, seems like the stats are pre-determined

ok ya I saw the guide but it didnt click that the items listed where the only items you get for those extra slots, got it now.

It basically changes the item to one that drops in the raid so you can have a matching set. The stats are the same as the stuff dropped in the raid.

All the forge does it makes an equivalent item from the raid, so it will just carbon copy the stats over to the item is all. My question is does it change the appearance to the item from the raid, as this seems like it would be an effective tool to get the set. All be it the paladin set is meh, yet it would be cool if you can use it for set purposes.

It looks like it does, yes.
