Creation Catalyst 1 Week Cooldown

Please remove the 1 week cooldown period for creating tier pieces. Players have been waiting long enough for patch 9.2 (I think it was first talked about in Sep 2021) let alone just getting to the tier sets (April 12th), but if you have bad rng then it will not be until May 10th where you can even craft a full tier set. This is really bad and turns players off from the game as they see lots of people with their sets already while they have nothing. This isn’t even to mention how badly it impacts PvP or how it makes playing new alts feel terrible and leads to players not even trying thus impacting game population.

Don’t do it later and have another blue post about how in hindsight you see the cooldown period was a bad decision (e.g. conduit energy, covenants). Just remove the cooldown period now because I guarantee you when April 12th rolls around and everyone realizes it’s not the day they can get tier but it’s still another month away they’re going to be very unhappy. Yes I know eventually (maybe 6 months down the road who knows) the cooldown period will be lessened to “every other day”, but even that is too long and just creates unnecessary frustration for people. Just do the right thing from the start for once and let people craft tier sets from the get go.

They did say the cooldown will begin to decrease over time. We don’t know what that is just yet, though.

Edit: nevermind! You covered that. Ignore me. :slightly_smiling_face:

Gating it at a piece a week after already keeping the feature shut off for 8 weeks is pretty bad, especially for PvP. They should just enable it now.

All good and yeah I mentioned that, but it’s so open ended and obviously will not happen for a while. Even when it does reach the maximum reduced frequency of every other day it’s going to be frustrating for people.

For example in PvP at some point they will most likely implement conquest catch up mechanics like they did last season, and at that point you will be able to level a new alt to 60 and have it geared in the same day. But wait no you won’t because it will take a minimum of 8 days to convert their gear into a tier set. During that entire time you will not only be pvp’ing at an ilvl disadvantage but will now also be without tier. It’s really just not going to be an enjoyable experience. I don’t raid/M+ but I imagine they will have the same frustrations. And again this is who know how long down the road where it’s every other day. For the foreseeable future it’s weekly which is way way worse.

Thanks for the support and yep I agree.

Should we go back to the old method of getting tier? A random drop inside a raid that can be done once a week?

1 tier piece per week is very generous. The cooldown will shorten over time as well.

Yes, I think that it’d be great if they enabled it now or on Tuesday.

We should go back to no tier if this is the only alternative.

You dont count the time of the announcement… Its been out for 3 weeks?

You mean back when PvPers had their own sets, so tier didn’t matter and didn’t screw over their gameplay?

For PvP it came with the gear you purchased so everyone had the ability to earn it at the same time. So yes.

Point being the game isn’t the same as it was then so comparing how it was earned to how it is currently earned isn’t a fair comparison. Tier is enabled in all content and the game has changed. RNG’ing a full set vs. people getting none is frustrating and unnecessary.

This is exactly what Blizzard wants. This is why they didn’t give PvPers their own gear. This is why they disabled Dom shards. This is why they tuned it all around 4 piece set bonuses. It’s so they could gloat on their “you think you do but you don’t” mantra and sabotage it for us.

Tin foil theory? I don’t think so. Not after some of the abilities they unpruned on purpose to show us we really didn’t want unpruning.

Sadly, I think this hits the nail right on the head.

Or you know…you could just go and raid every week…which is how tier sets have been acquired since the beginning of WoW…

First time something like this has been implemented and you’re already crying that it’s ONLY once per week?! You can’t be serious…

Absolutely no words…

PVPers have always complained about pve gear and how it affected pvp. Even when they had their own gear. (And the reverse was also true, pvers complained about pvpers bringing their gear into dungeons/raids)

You mean that some cool down that matches the cooldown raiders have to get their tier pieces?

We’re already unhappy with April 12. If they release it Tuesday the cooldown doesn’t become such a big deal. I’m not against that though.

And that’s an entirely separate conversation. You acting as if no PvP gear isn’t an issue and bringing up the Old way of doing things— when this was all implemented differently— is nonsensical at best.

Nooo I think tier set is awesome.

Acquisition of it, that… that needs blown up like usual. This patch was like this little dip of the toe in the pool of “the right way to do it”, and that’s as far as they got.

I never said anything about no pvp gear not being an issue. They should have their own set, though acquiring it should be paced as it is for pvers.

Didn’t pvpers also have to wait though? The beginning of each season brought about new honor and rating requirements. It’s been a while since I did any pvping, but I do remember they would reset honor and conquest at some point.
