Since Classic only allows for tracking of one gathering profession, I really do not feel like swapping over randomly while out in the world, leaning me to skinning and either mining/herbing.
But I was thinking… is there a way to create a hotkey to swap automatically from tracking herbs. to tracking mine nodes. Anyone know? I am sure this would be the same as retail so we could try, I just do not know the spells.

Want to be able to set up a single key that I can click and it swaps instead of me clicking the map mini icon and then selecting the other.
No it will cast one. Then the next time it will cast the other, then reset back to the first.
You can’t write a macro that pays attention to what you already have.
Just FYI this is not a thing. You’ll be casting the spells as the only way to do it. Alternatively, use 2 buttons on your cast bars.

Classic doesn’t allow you to click the map.

Based on the stresstest weekend, you could click the magnifying glass on the minimap to select what you tracked. Herbs and Mining were options if you had the skills.
They’re spells. Cast one or the other. They’ll be on your action bar.
Hmm I never had both but the spells are there. Clicking on the icon would not be Vanilla.
At one point, in vanilla, I did have both. I was still inexperienced but thought that both would be nice for making money. I wasn’t wrong. Since I couldn’t track both at the same time, I would track one, usually ore, and keep an eye out for the herbs. After a while, I’d make a circuit of a zone tracking one, then swap. I can see how a macro to swap between them would be useful though.
Not that the competition for resource nodes won’t be extreme in the first few weeks.
