First post here and new player to the server. I’ve enjoyed my time with RP so far. I think it adds a lot to the game and gives me something to do when I’m not butt-clenching in a race to the next rare spawn in Mechagon. I’ve noticed some bartenders in my short time in the city and I’m curious of there’s a guild or community for this? If not, who here would be interested in one?
From the way I see things, it can be hard to find excuses to walk-up RP in the city for some character types. However, if you strap them into a job that requires and excuses the walk-ups, I think we might be able to bolster the RP community and get some more quiet and reserved RPers out into the action.
I haven’t worked out the specifics for anything official like a guild yet. Just tossing out an interest gauge. Even if you don’t want to be a bartender or a waitress or whatever, what are your thoughts on this sorts in the taverns you frequent? Do they add or detract?
Skott out.

Ooooooh I really love this idea. I think it would help people who are fairly new to RP as well. It gives their character a purpose.
If you frequent the Keg, it’s got its own bartender guild. The bartender there, Jake Fletcher, has his Hot Shots guild working there, waiting tables and such. It’s good immersion for a bar that has phased dwarves taking up seats, and a bunch of shamans hogging the upstairs.

I remember seeing a guild that used to do bartending stuff for the Blue Recluse but I don’t know what happened to them.
This is great. I haven’t been around long enough to see these people yet! Do you know about any guilds or players who run similar things in the Mage District? That seems to be the real hot spot for RP. Could be a great opportunity!
Unfortunately, I haven’t seen any sort of the thing at the Blue Recluse, Slaughtered Lamb or Pig and Whistle.
I was just at the tavern in the Dwarven District and was served by a bartender by the name Jake Fletcher. I noticed from his TRP that he is running a guild and has a list of staff who works with him. He had a pretty nice menu, and I was impressed by his bartending and way to work with the patrons. Jake’s the only one I have seen around so far, though.
Edit: Oh hay… looks like Darrisoc beat me to it - but yes, it was nice to have Jake there to order drinks and food from =)

He’s a good lad, chats up the patrons and everything.

I wanted to update and say that I gave this a shot last night. I had a lot of fun, and made contact with a bunch of people I probably wouldn’t have. As a character that doesn’t often have much business in walk up RP, I can say a profession greatly helped give me the excuse. I recommend this or the similar to anyone.

Yeah, it’s great for walk ups, as the bartender is someone people will come up to in RP all the time. I can’t tell you how many whispers i have had from people thanking me, and quite a few were from people who just got into the RP or were new to the server. Interaction, even a simple one, can often help new players out with fleshing out their character or even help people who are not new to RP scene to get a feel for a newly-created character.
