Ok, since hardcore is like reality ---- you only die once— why cant we have a feature that sells all of the dead characters items and sends it to a designated heir on your account? In reality somebody gets your junk when you die, so why cant this be a thing in a game?
I’d be pretty happy just getting to keep the items I had listed on the AH when I die and transfer to Era.
Alts are a thing. You may not get everything on the character when it dies, but if you do it right, you will be out very little.
Gnome trolls and other folks with useless opinions will come in here and say “nope” but the reality is people are using bank alts to stash their stuff
They should probably allow some element of this since the game already allows it, it’s just annoying to do.
Use a bank alt
You should be using a bank alt to do your auctions. Safety first and all that jazz…
The unvarnished truth is that the level of the vast majority of stuff I’m listing is so meager that it’s not even worth the 30 copper to send it to an alt to list it on the AH. Which is all the more reason why it would be helpful for me to arrive in Era still having it in my possession.
If it’s that worthless, why aren’t you just vendoring it? Personally, if it’s not worth the mailing and deposit I don’t bother.
Being able to go to your dead body on another character to loot your goodies left on your rotting corpse would be neat. Except all the gear is probably soul bound, but does a corpse even have a soul?
I like this idea in theory, but the amount of griefers trying to train people with the sole intent on getting their gear would be insane.
Bank Alts get the job done close enough. If there is an emergent activity that basically already does the thing, I wouldn’t waste the time and resources if I was blizzard.
Hence why none of that should be lootable, it goes with the soul of the toon to the nether.
Most of it lists with no deposit. But I sell it for four or ten or twenty times the vendor price. Shrug.
With that sort of profit, surely you could afford postage.
Nope.
This is a stupid idea.
You die, you die.
Until the auction sells, I might not even have 30 copper.
That would defeat the purpose of hardcore. If you want to keep things, put them on an alt. Only use alts for AH transactions. It’s simple.
You can mitigate loss by having a bank alt and periodically sending them money and items, but this is hardcore mode. You have to be prepared that you could lose everything on your character at any moment - it’s another element of the game for you to determine if you die this session, will you be okay with the losses?
And plus, you don’t ACTUALLY lose the things - you can always transfer and play on the era servers.
Your stuff was stolen or devoured by what ate ya.
This will all be fixed with Warbands
