I was replaying some TWW for transmog stuff and had a theory that may be revealed to be accurate in an upcoming expansion, The Last Titan.
It’s basically a theory that the Dark Irons, Wildhammers, Bronzebeard dwarves are all actually descendants of the Earthen.
Think about it. They look similar, they like machinery. They have beards (some).
There could be a quest where an Earthen explains to the various dwarf clans that they are actually related and that there is no need anymore for animosity.
I’m sure Brann’s mind would be blown!

Nah, it wouldn’t be an Earthen doing this. It would be a super duper new race that is also the precursors to the Troggs as well.
And they were never forged by the titans, the titans simply took them prisoner.

Isn’t that what the Playable Earthen are though? Some super duper new race that suddenly has prominence and preeminence?
They aren’t even the Earthen we knew and loved - they are a whole different Earthen brand, moved to the front of the line.

Wouldn’t be surprised if there’s some forced Thraegar plot in TLT about exactly this.

They’ve literally been part of the lore since Uldaman in Vanilla and became a more prominent concept in Ulduar.
The Khaz Algar ones are new, but they’re not really retconning anything.
I think you misunderstand. I am saying that TLT will introduce a new race that came out of nowhere that is both the precursor to Earthen AND Troggs. Because taking a dump on preexisting lore when it came to trolls and elves is not enough for these devs.
Aka the Earthen and Troggs were not titanforged made out of stone, but instead a difference race that the Titans forced into stone. Tapping into that whole “curse of stone” fan theory that you know the story devs have taken as actual canon. Northgrave has the right idea.
