Crazy for Cats - Unobtainable until Timeless Isle?

The [Crazy for Cats] achievement requires players to collect 20 cat pets. As it stands now, we’ll only be able to get 19 at launch since the older TCG/Store Pets are not available in Classic. When Timeless Isle launches, we can pick up Xu-Fu then, but it’ll suck seeing that achievement incomplete… and lacking the “Crazy Cat Man” title.

If we had access to any of these pets below, we’d be able to get the achievement sooner.

  • Spectral Tiger Cub (TCG)
  • Nightsaber Cub (TCG)
  • Cinder Kitten (Store)
  • Guardian Cub (Store)

I’m hoping these kittens could be implemented through the existing [Sack of Pet Supplies] reward from finishing a Battle Pet dailies or maybe exchanging [Marked Flawless Battle-Stones] for a pet at Varzok/Audrey Burnhep!

I hope we can see these kitties available soon!

lol people really do care about the weirdest achievements.

World server can’t stay up, but this is the real issue.

Of course. People are only allowed to care about one thing at a time in the order of your choosing. Also, Blizzard can only work on one thing at a time, even if they’re completely different departments with different teams.

I don’t care about this achievement, but making store-bought pets available through playing the game is objectively a good thing.

Pretty sure at least Spectral Kitten will be available on BMAH in mop. Possibly the other tcg pet as well.

It’s moreso that the servers are unstable to the point of unplayability yet OP seems more concerned with random achievements that don’t do anything.

I mean, isn’t the whole point of Beta pointing out issues and looking for them to be fixed before live release? I’m certain that the Classic Team is absolutely hearing server instability issues from every direction and are working on a solution to that problem.

However, while cosmetic, I am a big pet collector/pet-battler. These pets were available before MoP’s launch and I’d like to see them available at MoP Classic’s launch.

The servers are not all unstable; specifically Pandaria’s world server is unstable to the point of unplayability. Furthermore, the OP making their suggestion does not in any way require the servers to be stable, so what better time is there to be counting earnable cats and making suggestions to change the way the cats are obtained to ensure an achievement that existed in MoP is obtainable again in MoP Classic?

How is saying “the servers are unstable” in any way beneficial in this discussion? Different people can work on different things. The servers being unstable does not in any way stop Blizzard from collecting feedback on and changing other things.

Cause right now, it appears no one at blizzard is working on anything (besides class balance). World server down bug for weeks and no communication. I can log on and crash the world server whenever I want.

It just tickled me that someone was busy counting cats when the MoP leveling experience is on track to be nothing but Monkey Runs. And MoP rep gains will not be possible. I’d hope they would devote the resources to making the bulk of the game playable first. After that? Sure add, some cats.

Ah, so you know why it’s crashing and how people are doing it? Perhaps that information would be useful on any of the threads about the server issues instead of this one.

The beta server is different than the live server. They do not care about their test servers’ stability, at all, but when the expansion goes live, Pandaria is not going to be crashing every 5 minutes…

… unless you happen to know some specific cause for the crashes that would work when it goes live.

I don’t know why you people ignore this point:

There is no need for this to be “after”. You do mention this:

But that’s just objectively not true. They have been working on a lot of things that you are merely taking for granted because the only blue posts you are reading are the class change ones.

LFR removed, Celestial dungeons, raid encounters, PvP tuning with base resilience, Dampening changes in arena, bringing Gladiator to 2v2 and 5v5, changing the way Rank 1 and Gladiator slots work, as well as dozens of general gameplay bugs listed in the Known Issues thread.

Oh, and by the way, the world server crashing is on the Known Issues list. That is your communication. If you want them to say “we don’t know why it’s happening and we’re still investigating” every day, I’m sure they could do so, but nothing would change about the situation. If you want intimate details about how the servers work and what they’re investigating specifically, maybe go work for Blizzard.

Cause the stress test went so well, eh? And blizzard has never released stuff in bugged states before?

I think this boils down to you having way more faith in blizzard than I do.

It has been reported everywhere it can be.

Not a chance. I’ve played since vanilla. I have no faith in Blizzard, which is why I play Classic in the first place. The launch will be horrible, as every Blizzard launch is.

I just also know that each world zone (Eastern Kingdoms, Kalimdor, Outland, Northrend, Pandaria, and instances, I believe) has its own server, and the beta and PTR versions of those are different and have fewer resources dedicated to them.

I said this, however:

Put simply, if someone/something is directly causing the crashes, and that issue isn’t fixed, it will happen when it goes live. If your post about specific quests causing the issue is accurate, then it seems likely they’ll fix the issue before launch.

In the past, they just disable quests like that if they don’t have time to fix it. Or they break it somehow, make it impossible to complete, and never come back to fix it.

Then your job is done. At this point, it’s up to Blizzard to fix it, so how does halting all other conversations until they do so help improve the game?
