these rep (renown) grinds are some of the most boring grinds i’ve ever experienced in a game
used to be 2 weeks of 10-20 minutes a day to get exalted
this crap is just tedious beyond belief
wish these devs would design for fun rather than metrics

Is it really that bad? I havent really “grinded” rep and I am at like 14 or 15 already myself.
Also I can’t really think of any reps that took only 2 weeks to get fully exalted in just 2 weeks of 10-20 minute questing per day, can you give me an example of one?
Blizzard:
It’s not that bad. People are just impatient and feel the need to complete everything in the 1st week so they can complain about how there is no content.
In what world was this ever a thing?
And how is it that you’re okay with camping rares for years but not okay with earning rep rewards faster?
You have some of the weirdest takes.
Its probably by design to push the expansion sales. It sure would not surprise me anyway.
just give me tabard rep back and ill do dungeons again.
I think players just miss the old days of grinding mobs for rep like with Timbermaw or spamming dungeons for rep with tabards. That way it can be done in a day vs spread out over time.
Well then, don’t rep grind.
Do something else. If you’re bored, play something else.
I got my human pally from 1 to 20 with emerald dream in three days. I’d already gotten another toon over renown 10, for the sweet 100% bonus. My pally is a human, plus anniversary bonus, plus thanksgiving bonus. I then started doing everything in the emerald dream, saving any big rep tokens. When he was renown 9 with a smidge to go before 10 I used one of the 2500 tokens, which came to almost 6000 rep all up. I then just used my tokens and continued on playing. By the time weekly reset happened he was 18. So after the reset I finished. Just barely made it with what was there that first day. Had to rely on a couple of rare kills for the last couple hundred.
Anyway, it’s real easy!
It is that bad though. Unless you consider click on yellow exclamation, travel and do the thing, click on yellow question mark to be compelling game play, which frankly at this point in my wow career I do not.
That is the entire reason rep doesn’t work for me, if I find myself doing regular yellow quests something is wrong.
For real… they are so grindy, so slow I don’t even try anymore
Only have 1 renown at 20+, the rest have been sort of “frozen” between 10-15 since forever since the grind is so boring/so ridiculously slow
I suspect “the idea” from the devs was to make renown super grindy on the assumption we would play more - but INSTEAD this game design seemed to backfire on their intended purpose, people who are behind on rep/renowns simply stop trying rather than try to grind it out or “catch up”
Ironically, renown is the one feature/system that was actually better in Shadowlands… so it’s actually a “downgrade” in Dragonflight
Except Timbermaw was insanely long before it was changed in Cata.
Hello Troll
I’m a tauren. You’re a blood elf. Nice to meet you.
LOL. Good response =)
I hated how they did Pathfinder for this expansion. Unless you played all expansion, you’re not getting it. I switched to Alliance about a month ago, and there is no way in hell I am grinding every rep to 20!!
That seems a bit extreme. I’ve hardly played DF and can fly around on my pretty flying mounts.
Some of us hit Pathfinder day one by doing all of the prereqs early in and exploring as soon as ED released. Not too bad and better then previous PF gigs.
they took rep requirement off. just do the zone campaigns and explore.
