Crazy artifact bug with ray tracing enabled on 5070 ti - ERA

When enabling ray tracing in graphics settings all the textures go nuts with artifacts across the screen and fps tanks down to the 10s, eventually crashing and reverting back to dx11 mode.

Not sure if this is a game or Nvidia problem, is anyone else on a 50 series card or any card for that matter that has experienced this?

Any water artifacts for me in cata . It started after they updated the graphics . On both my 2080ti and 3070 . I am running 566.03 drivers atm .

No issues at all with a 4080 on driver 572.60.

This is happening to me too, brand new build, but rears up when I am streaming with Stream Labs OBS, or join raid group to kill world boss…game crashes, or after freeze up, is suddenly playable again (maybe doing what OP said, reverting to lower Direct X?!) This is obviously a driver issue

Hi,

So i have this issue aswell with a new GPU Asus 5070 TI TUF OC (few weeks old) paired with a 9800X3D.

It actually started when i installed Nvidias newest drivers 576.28 today and a few seconds after logging into retail, everything went haywire.
FOund in a forum that i had to disable ray tracing for it to work.

I run dual monitor but the issue also presented itself when i booted the game with just 1 monitor connected.

I dont believe this is a blizzard issue, more an NVIDIA issue, but if someone finds a solution other than disabling RT (i mean, it worked before, and i like RT).

Hope this helps!

I just upgraded to a 5070 TI OC and I’m having the same issues. I was wondering if I had a faulty card

Exactly what happens to me. After a bit of it freaking out, it’ll freeze for a few seconds and then be perfectly fine

This is happening to me as well. MSI RTX 5070 TI.

What are we thinking do we have any updates? i feel like i have a faulty card but it wasnt happening until a couple weeks ago. I tried updating my drivers too and its still happening.

9800x3d with RTX 5080. Has anyone been able to figure out a resolution for this? I guess the only option is to play with RT off. Anyone know how to report this to NVidia? My driver version is 576.40 and I’m still having this issue.

Ya the solution is to exit out of MSI afterburner

Holy crap!! you were not kidding. Regardless of whether I had my overclock settings active or not, RT shadows with afterburner on would always crash. But with afterburner closed it works completely fine. I wonder why. And does this happen only with afterburner? Or does it happen with other Overclocking software as well?

Now I question whether afterburner impacts other games as well…

i dont run afterburner. is there any other program that could be causing this?

I don’t have afterburner also

Just built a new computer with a 5090. Thought my card was bad! I don’t use Afterburner, just HWINFO to monitor temps. Even turned that off but no luck. Only solution is to turn of RT. Sucks to spend the money on something and not be able to use one of it’s functions.

yeah ive gone through the nvidia troubleshooting and brought it to their attention. did a nvidia cleanup tool and reinstalled what they suggested, just waiting to hear back on any further troubleshooting

That is exactly how I feel and I actually switched out my PNY to an ASUS graphics card but still 5070 TI. Still having the same issue

Response after troubleshooting with nvidia:
