So, this was inspired by the forum post found here:
Some of the people were saying they had some crazy stories from their jobs, and I’d love to hear some from all of you.
I have only a handful I can think of that I can talk about (Idk if I can talk about ones at my current job since I think it falls under HIPAA and I have no idea how exactly it works, so better safe than sorry ), however I think they’re good ones.
Normally at McDonalds you’ll deal with one or two customers who aren’t too bright but it’s not a big deal. Like asking a cheeseburger without cheese and then getting mad when you order them a hamburger. However there’s one who takes the freaking cake.
This lady ordered a hamburger, came back, and said “I need this less cooked”. I blinked and stared at her, then thought she either mispoke or I misheard her. I asked “Ma’am I’m so sorry my ears are awful, did you say your burger wasn’t cooked enough?” She then got visably angry and said “No, it’s too cooked”. I then thought she meant it was burnt and said “Oh, I’m so sorry ma’am! I’ll have the grill make you another one”. The lady then said “No, that’s ok, I just need them to make the burger less cooked”…
It was then starting to sink in that this woman wanted me to take the burger to the grill… And make it so it was no longer as cooked, meaning a little raw in the middle. Now obviously she very well could have been making a joke, wouldn’t be the first time but she looked so serious. Maybe she was just that good of an actor.
Long story short, I had to explain to her you cannot un-grill a hamburger. A fact she refused over and over until she yelled for my manager. I pray this woman was just pulling a prank, cuz if not, I’m insanely worried for her.
There were also other small ones but they’d take too much time up. One I’ll leave you off with before I wait to hear other people’s stories is still at McDonalds, I open up the window to hand a couple their food, and a giant freaking cicada lands on my chest. My eyes go wide, I hand the food, mumble “Have a lovely day”, shut the window and then scream like a 5 year old girl. Thankfully the dinner room was closed and locked down so the only people I scared were my coworkers. I still get shivers when I think about that.
