I’m having the same problem. The client periodically freezes. It usually comes back about a bit, but once I had to just force quit the client. I never had this problem before patch 8.3. I have NO add-ons installed.

EDIT: This does not seem to be limited to a specific zone. I’ve seen it happen in a classic dungeon (Gnomeregan) and in Shadowmoon Valley (Draenor). It does seem to happen when there is a lot going on on the screen. It also happened during the cutscene that plays when you upgrade your garrison to level 2, although in that case it didn’t freeze, it just crashed.

Anyone every play Final Fantasy 14? How is it? With 8.3 Wow is unplayable and with no word from Blizzard on if they are fixing it or just moving on with out Mac support, I am looking for something to play.

After reinstall again the game, the issue continue, this is the message after restart the SO.

Never had this issue before 8.3. Screen periodically freezes mostly for 5 or so seconds, but once on patch night and twice last night, the freeze lasted maybe a minute or two and forced my computer to reboot.

Ran through the list of freezing solutions, including a complete game re-install. Before re-install I could not get past Stage 6 of HoO. Stages 1-5 are no issue (although I reduced graphics quality to… well gross, really.) After re-install, I was able to coax the computer past stage 6 to stage 7, but with many beach balls, and then finally a total freeze and reboot.

This issue would occur for me once every 4-5 days in the previous patch. In 8.3 I can almost reliably recreate this freeze by 1) running around Boralus, or 2) pulling large groups of mobs. By doing so, I either experience 5-10 sec of total computer lockup or I have to resort to restarting my computer altogether. The game is now unplayable in 8.3.

OK EVERY MAC USER! i personally found my fix… I have a 5k retina display 2014 iMac 5ghz blah blah catalina… I have been trying to figure it out for like a full day now. For me what worked was turning my “window size” resolution back up all the way, but turning “resolution scale” down whatever works best or ur frames (mines 50% for resolution scale) and my FPS went back up by like 40 frames

Yeah ill agree that blizzard definitely implemented some type of software with 8.3 that isn’t very compatible with mac users. Im seeing some users replying to my post saying they have no issues at all though, so im quite stumped.

Part of me wanted to believe that it was just an influx of people and new content an that data bandwidth was messing with my computer, but no way, its too drastic of a change.
