Crashes since patch

I have crashed or locked up 5 times in 2 hours of game play since the patch loaded up.

I’ve locked up twice so far in total, but it has always been at the worst possible times. It’s probably some addon causing the issue, but I can’t figure out which since the crashes have happened with no discernable cause and at unpredictable times.

I wonder if this is any relation to windows update that was active this morning. Ive been getting odd memory usage errors.

I am using Linux, but I also started getting weird memory leak type crashes today out of nowhere. So glad to see I am not alone in this. Everything will be fine and then all of a sudden WoW uses 25-30GB of RAM and bricks my PC.

lot of people are reporting memory leaks and crashes as well as other strange bugs. a fun one I have had, aside from the memory leak crash. I have seen strange Role flags in LFD & LFR, the most odd being classes with Role flags that cant fill like a DK with healer flag. these are also the runs my game hard crashes in … So maybe related?

/raise hand for memory leak
It was a big issue in last november…
Hopefully it will be re- acknowledge soon

I use Linux. The game ran seamlessly all year until yesterday after the August 14, 2024 update. Now it crashes or freezes after playing for ten or fifteen minutes.

Same, it’s an insane memory leak. If you open System Monitor and watch the memory usage when the crash/freeze is starting to occur, it’ll probly show your RAM maxed out. I use Fedora Linux, zero issues until this recent patch.

May as well post here since that other topic is several years old. I’m also running on Nobara Linux using Proton and am having this issue. So far every time it has happened it has locked up my PC and required a power cycle to fix. I’ve added some launch arguments to my Battle.net entry to auto-kill the process if it exceeds 24GB of RAM usage, so here’s hoping that prevents it from completely locking me up again.

Side note: I tried using the /console dxrestart command that was recommended by Blizzard in the other topic, and funny enough it actually increased the game’s RAM usage by 2GB after using it.

Yeah that command did nothing for me either.

Same prob, on Fed 40. I tried changing API’s but that had seemingly no effect.
