I think they did in Isle of Thunder.
well color me not surprised
The point to all this is that Warcraft gets less consistent as time goes on and at this point Twilight seems to have more care put into its setting than Warcraft.
I frankly do not accept that this is nitpicking or nagging over specifics.
This a pretty good point as well:
"The bulk of the Army of the Light are reamining on Azeroth to defend the Alliance and their new home.
However, a contingent of Lightforged have taken to the stars with the Vindicaar alongside the Illidari and the Fel Hammer.
Sargeras may be contained but Argus showed us there were countless worlds wracked by Legion forces that need help."
I was thinking along the oft suggested “use the vindicaar as a mobile aid / rescue craft” or logistics, rounding out the reality that war is made up of many moving parts and providing some depth to the otherwise less interesting facets of it.
But that suggests a level of care far beyond what BfA was intended to be.
Like, I remember reading someone’s take, possibly from these very forums because my memory is bad, about Teldrassil being up in flames and the leftovers choked out by smoke and then suddenly the Vindicaar parts the sky and descends to downgrade teldrassil from “tasteless genocide” to “attempted tasteless genocide”.
And the visual idea of it has stuck with me.
Do you know how badly I wiah the Vindicaar would’ve shown up to Lordaeron instead of just Jaina?
The light cleansing the Blight may have even made sense.
The blight killed a whole bunch of paladins and killed undead as well
The light magically neutralizing it would have made just as much since as “blow/freeze it away”
A bunch of paladins magically neutralizing it by themselves sure.
However it wouldnt take a lot to explain that an Orbital Battle Station using the bulk of its remaining power could neutralize the blight.
It would at least make more sense than “and then Jaina arrived and froze it.”
Sargeras won
Part of me feels like their ignoring the Vindicaar is in response to the “there’s too much sci-fi in my fantasy!!” crowd.
Which sort of leaves those of us (me) who like “sci-fi” in our fantasy hanging out to dry.
At best, some orbital magical light blast would have just…pushed it away. Which is pretty much what happened.
Jaina showed up because she’s the crux of the alliances incursion into kul tiras and well…people like her. And when the plot has always ran on popularity power. Being liked and having people know your name trumps logic
Which is an awful way to drive your plot and always has been.
I sincerely doubt this, given how low-ranking story concerns, player concerns and player concerns about the story rank.
They didn’t use the Vindicaar because of Sylvanas’ jumping skills, she’d just jump up into space and Banshee Strike it into oblivion.
Smart move tbh, maybe they can slowly fly it up into heaven from Northrend because then it will be below her.
That’s the beauty of Superfriends logic. Sylvanas can Banshee Jump away from Anduin, but won’t be able to Banshee Jump from a trap she needs to be caught in. Nothing matters.
Maybe. Absolutely to you and me. But the WrA forums are a small drop in the player bucket and expansions are sold exclusively on cool intro cinematics and characters people want to see.
Hell, even wrath, the expansion everyone puts on a pedestal as good writing was just us following around about 10 named characters everyone liked until the lich king was replaced by a named character everyone liked.
If you wanted a tight cohesive narrative with well developed characters youre about 8 expansions too late
I’d settle for a moderately competent MMO with characters I dont actively hate and not riddled with easily fixed plot holes.
Have you tried roleplaying? Cant hate your own characters and the plot is written by you
Its preeeeeeetty fun ngl
Its pretty scary to think she can hump higher than the boy king who leapt on top of a three-story tall azerite tank and stabbed it with his sword causing it to explode and then anime-jumping off to LAND PERFECTLY ON HIS HORSE AND RIDING AWAY WITHOUT LOOKING AT THE EXPLOSION CAUSE HES SUCH A COOL DUDE
God, it’s really depressing to think about how the biggest complaint anyone has had with Final Fantasy to my knowledge is that Lyse “doesn’t do anything, but gets all the credit.”
Like, I wish we had it that good.
