See i’ll be fine if they just dev the game better. It’s not a terribly compelling or original foundation to rebuild from. Unless it was people from the forum on a… dev council.
See and then there’s stuff like this that makes me think that maybe none of the devs we actually know of are responsible for the company’s deterioration and its all the fault of the amorphous corporate blob of shareholders that lords over them
Capitalism is a cancer
Having seen old forum posts from Kaplan and Ion (like, from the Everquest or vanilla WoW days) means whenever they say something like that, I always have my suspicions.
What sort of posts?
I’d be hesitant to believe this. Not to say that I think Kaplan is specifically being dishonest about how he feels, because he certainly seems like a nice enough guy.
But that looks less like a principled stand than it does a hall pass to me. You see it a lot in politics: if you’ve got enough votes locked down to pass something, then you let the most threatened ones flip (to no effect) so that they don’t get dragged down by it.
I mean, codependency is a cycle as well, they never said it was an escalation cycle.
Oh my god.
Are we mismatched roommates in a zany sitcom.
The alliance is neat!
The horde is messy!!
also one of them keeps commiting genocide against the other
Ha ha!!!
That might be a bit closer to what we have, but it’s not what they are at least trying for. Probably.
Only if I get to be the sarcastic best friend living across the hall who isn’t “TV Network Hot” enough to get paid as a regular
I was born for this role
She’s still too popular for them to kill. She’s going to meet the same fate as Illidan. There will be some excuse she has to stay in the Shadow lands so the story can move on without her while not agrivating her fans too much.
“Bye, Sylvanas. Have fun in heaven.”
I’m telling you, she’s going to get a half-measure “punishment” - she’ll become the new Jailer, thus escaping her forever-hell-fate in some sense, but also still literally being stuck there forever, just without the torture.
lots of gamer words. Just google “jeff kaplan old posts” or something. Remember that he used to be Tigole Bitties in Everquest. Ion was part of Elitist Jerks (and still is?) so you can imagine the kind of attitude he had in the game itself as a player.
Hard disagree.
The Zandalar story arc was very memorable and the Bwonsomdi character was hard not to invest in. The only thing that took away from it is that all the characters were trolls. Just because once again the Alliance got the blander of the two stories doesn’t take away form the Horde one being decent.
But she deserves the torture. The whole reason she deserves to die is so she goes there to be tortured for being the evil piece of crap she’s been for years.
We agree, so… I’m just saying, she’s 100% going to get the Illidan treatment where she basically gets put off screen–effectively a “death” as far as the spotlight goes–without actually dying. She’ll be “punished” for her foul deeds without actually being punished. They might even write it up as some vague, nebulous redemption or something.
People escaping punishment for evil adds an element of realism for me. If everyone got what they deserved it would just be a morality tale.
Without diverting too much attention from the cranky issues at hand, I really have to say I feel more and more uncomfortable with how often you wax on and on about how Sylvanas needs to suffer the worst pain and death possible.
Not to get on my woman soapbox, but I think we get it. I think we get how much you despise her. But she doesn’t deserve anything, because she’s a character who behaves the way the writers tell her to. I feel it may be a better use of our time as a community to hold writers accountable for poor writing, as opposed to holding characters responsible for… really anything.
Blizzcon was disappointing with how meh it was. The reveals were as exciting as the war of thorns twist.
No faction pve grouping? Of course not.
No ap grind for specific talents and mandatory spec powers? Please. We wouldnt do that. Have these covenants. they will totally have more than one viable option. Just d3 style. This covenant will work up to mythic tier 15! 20? No it will be really hard with that perfectly viable covenant. Try a different one.
Oh? Enjoying one specifically? Time to NERF them all randomly. We could bring the others UP so the people enjoying that style wouldnt lose out but… fun detected.
Dont worry. Sylvanas gets a new outfit in shadowbrin- lands.
