idk it matters for the night elves in super hell that cant leave cause theyre not maw walkwers
Mawkers.
I still can’t get over that.
Man, they urgently need some negativity in that dojo.
This pisses me off. So Sylvanas knowingly sent thousands of innocent men, women, and children. CHILDREN. To the Maw to suffer in endless torment. Not only is this insult to injury for Night Elves, but it should solidify Sylvanas as a total villain who only deserves the slowest and most painful death, as well as the hell that awaits her.
Maw Walker was actually my nickname in college, so this feels right at home to me
for very different reasons, but still
u know theyre not real right
Obviously, but it’s just kind of crappy for those who are fans of Night Elves as a race to know the majority of them were killed off and now, in lore, suffer eternally.
Even worse is that it will probably get swept away and forgotten, and Sylvanas will get redeemed in some BS plot.
By slow painful death do you mean sacrificing her mobility to be the new jailer aka Satan but morally grey okay dark grey and being a quest giver in patch 11.2?
If so, you won’t be disappointed!
Also preorder the Jailer Sylvanas *now with less clothes and more chains statue for $199.99
Please don’t joke about that… I already have a feeling in my gut she is going to escape any judgment or consequences for her actions by becoming the new Jailer this expansion.
Yup, I wasnt joking
Even if she’s a or THE raid boss, she’ll die and that will be what gives her final death cred. It will be so satisfying to kill her in a raid and the cinematic be her snidely thanking us!
Knowing Blizzard you are probably right. It’s all part of her 7D chess game because she’s such a “tActiCal gEniUs”. We kill her and she dies with a smug look on her face because it was all part of her plan.
Man, I really wish destroying the crown had someone just perma-killed Sylvie. I wish Godfrey had killed her, I wish something less stupid had happened. Anything.
I feel bad for every RPer who read Sylvanas’ characterization from blizzard’s own books and ingame quests and thought they wouldn’t retcon it.
That quest in cataclysm where she told you how much she wants to help her people to survive and find redemption?
Or how outraged she was that Garrosh did not value her people’s lives, and would use them as meat shields?
Or in “Before the Storm” where her own inner monologue says she never wanted to be war-chief and was surprised to get the position, and she had begrudgingly respected Vol’jin?
We are now supposed to believe she was already working for this “Jailer” guy to manipulate everyone and to get herself into a position of power and cause the most death possible. The whole time.
Didn’t “Edge of Night” actually describe from her point of view what she experienced after throwing herself off icecrown? Where in that did she have a chance to meet this Jailer guy?
A lot of that is easily explained as her just… you know, lying to us. Like she lied to everyone. She wasn’t upset because Garrosh was killing her people like, out of respect for their lives or whatever, but because she considered them HERS and not his.
The only thing I feel that has actually been a major retcon with Sylvanas is the Wrathgate.
Even that’s debatable. I mean come on, as tight a ship as Sylvanas runs and how much she had to be in control do you really think she wouldn’t have known about that plan for Wrathgate? There is no way she didn’t know.
Sylvanas may not have ordered the Wrathgate specifically but she definitely knew about it and let it happen because all she wanted was revenge against Arthas.
That would explain some of it, but not all: there were books written from Sylvanas’ point of view in which she expresses surprise and dismay at becoming warchief, and wishing that she could work from the shadows. She even mentioned respecting vol’jin and regretting his passing!
The retcons mentioned in this year’s blizzcon would have us believe that Sylvanas had always been planning to try to manipulate her way into becoming war chief from the start, adding yet another dimension to her chess game.
I’m disappointed the faction divide will remain.
If you don’t want orcs hanging out in Stormwind fine, whatever, but at least lift it for PVE content. PVP you can just do some dumb merc mode thing or restrict warmode to enforce faction divide I don’t know or care. You could use examples like Jaina and Larry going after Azshara together as an example of the factions working together to stop the great evil.
I’m also disappointed that the question about transmog was wasted on legendaries WHO CARES IF YOU HAVE ATIESH. I wish they had asked about lifting the restriction on class specific gear. They could easily introduce something like, you still have to collect the gear on the class that can equip it but once you have it on one character all your characters can have it.
It’s dumb because that’s like ez mode free content Blizz can just make up, toss in some more transmog achievements and look at that you got people going nuts trying to collect even more stuff. I mostly have leather collected and some cloth but if they pushed that I’d been incentivized to start collecting plate and mail which I’ve mostly ignored.
The idea that they have to justify PvP story wise makes no sense.
I don’t think it’s even about pvp at this point I think it really is as basic as clinging to what they seem to view as the last uniquely “warcraft” part of the franchise and it’s a hill they’ll die on before anything else.
Or they’re just really clinging to it as the nuclear option ace in their sleeve.
They’re going to introduce some hamfisted reason for the war to start up again and here’s my take at it.
Baine, now promoted as Anduin’s adviser walks through the halls of Stormwind castle. However the large Tauren is not used to the smaller quarters humans inhabit and despite his best efforts he’s been the cause of many broken chairs and damaged doorways. Tensions in the castle have begun to rise but the spark that ignites it all is when Baine accidentally bumps and knocks over a cabinet filled with Anduin’s precious fine china. This causes a domino affect, resulting in the many other cabinets of fine china to fall because I guess that’s what humans like and filled the whole castle with it???
Anduin, devastated vows revenge and now we’re at war again.
Baine wages genocidal war on Ironforge to protect the Horde from the new threat of Blazerite. All the Horde goes along with it, except for Lor’themar, who challenges him to mak’gora and it turns out Baine was working with Sargeras the whole time or something.
