Crafting xp nerf?

Did they nerf how much xp you can get while crafting recently?

My general alt leveling loop is - Dungeon/quest to 84 - Do all delves for their quests to 86 - Turn in all the quests once 86 to level to 88 - And then craft “enchanting and tailoring” - to go from 88 to 90.

I just tried that on another alt last night, and I stopped gaining xp for new crafts at 88.9 “Half way though enchanting” Tried to go over to tailoring, no xp for new crafts.

I think it’s capped at 30 crafts? I shot myself in the foot on a few crafting altar, so their level got spent 80-81.

I usually start the delve turn in later. But I hate that last bit of leveling.

yeah same, my alt is sitting at 89 and I just dont wanna level the rest of the way lol. Maybe wait for timewalking I guess.

I get it. I’m a terrible leveler. I’ve played around the with invasions. They’re slow and the blue bag ones only give low 4 digit XP, but the purple bag one is worth about a delve turn.

Yeah, it was done last expansion I think, don’t recall exactly. Cause you were basically able to level alts almost by just crafting, dropping the professions, picking up a new one, rinse and repeat. Something about Midnight makes me not want to level alts but maybe I’m just tired and in a rut.

Yeah it’s wild. I only have 6 alts right now “About to be 7”, but I swear I did the profession xp on all of them from 88 to 90 (Or I’m just losing my mind… I’m old now so that’s a possibility)

Depending on how that lined up and the weekly profession quest that gives XP. You might have been able to use the 30 or w.e limit to finish the 1.5-2 levels. AND 6 alts at level 90? Oh my.

I don’t bother but darkmoon faire is up so that’s always a nice boost.

I think it’s because they’re locked you in to where questing is the only way to level.

I’m happy farming delves, but the return is very low. So only happy so long and I made far too many alts with Remix.

I did similar with Remix. They’re all waiting at Arcantina to see if they’ll emerge into playing.

I didnt play remix at all. Wish I would have though. I mostly did all mine during the long timewalking events around the anniversary. I may or may not have an alt account with a twink lvl 11 warrior on it i would run my alts though with lol. (That sadly don’t work as well anymore since the twink nerfs)

Wowza.

Remix I did one close to an hour. A bunch were 2ish. I cannot imagine doing this many outside of remix. Big props.

Yeah I was similar to that some expansions ago but I think I just got burned out on having alts at max level. I’ve got like 16 or so level 80’s and just one 90. In the midst of finding a ‘main’ for the first time instead of bouncing around on alts. I thought it’d be my haranir druid but seems I fell out of that pick. I dived into professions and that new system almost needs you to have alts going so I just spent literally start of launch for many weeks just cycling through alts. Work then burn out and now I’ve basically put professions on the back burner and don’t care if I miss out on KP. Gotta refocus on the main game lol :joy:

it’s not that much slower during those events. I think I was pumping out a lvl 80 alt once every 2 hours or so as well.

My secret for alts and professions:

Myu Knowledge tracker.

Prioritize:

  • Treatises on all (I have a scribe and just put so many in each characters bag)
  • The weekly quest
  • Enough crafting orders to complete the quest. Any that have all mats or give knowledge and aren’t obscene.
  • Darkmoon when up.
  • For priority profs only: the treasures.

For priority profs, I work more orders and pick up crafts.

yeah almost all my alts are for crafting. I try and be as self sufficient as possible so i don’t have to spend money on the AH. Been super lazy this expac though for some reason.

Usually I have a ton of alchs…. I’ve only got 2 rollin right now and can’t force myself to do the grind again I don’t think.

The knowledge tracker really is so nice to have built in to addons now rather than a WA like it was in TWW. I could not live without it as a profession junkie.

Definitely helps a tonne. With everything that is involved in the overhaul of professions, I always wondered why Blizzard just didn’t do an in-game one. Crazy what information people without that addon are missing.

Yeah it’s just the amount of time investment for me and knowing my goals are tougher to reach when you have jim, bob, and sally that had early access and are not missing a beat when it comes to crafts so they eat up all the orders from people.. I got super lazy with it.. some expansions prior (pre Dragonflight) I really liked investing time into Professions.

I feel this way about too many things in WoW. I’m convinced they think the lack of visibility is a mechanic.

Ex:

  • Anything related to combat. I’ve spent too many hours on WowAnalyzer, Wipe fest, etc to get any semblance of data to improve my performance.
  • Any internal method to confirm you’re going your rotation correctly and keeping up on it. I spend hours on WowAnalyzer seeing where it drops off, setting alerts, and still not having a ton of success.
  • So much profession stuff.
  • Secret auras and healing and placing debuffs/buffs.
  • Interruptable mobs - must have an addon if you want to catch the right casters.
  • Low contrast debuffs in the soup of visual chaos.

I noticed when leveling my professions that there seemed to be a point where new things didn’t give me XP. Now I know why. Darn nerfs.

it’s been that way since the expansion launched, this isn’t a recent change
