Crafting profession gear being put on me by default

hey Blizzard. Can you turn off the automatic profession gear that I put on from doing profession things? I pay money to look a certain way with Xmog and you are changing my appearance without my consent. Why am I paying for Xmog if you are just going to have it change my look without my consent? Its an annoyance that is growing on me. I mean if I wanted to wear a chefs hat I would get one.

It’s the NPC to the left of the crafting order hall. Mahra Treebender although I do agree it should be off by default.

Same way as in DF to turn profession gear off…you gotta find the tauren gal who handles them and she’ll turn them off for you. I forget her name but it’s been that way since profession gear got added in DF.

But…I just click on the little buff thing top right to turn it off? It takes a second of time. Surely there are more annoying things in the game than that??

It’s pretty annoying, especially if you craft daily. There’s the whole chart of automation thing. Even if it only takes one second to do it if you’re doing it often enough it’s annoying, also it affects something people really get into, tmog.

Im sorry but seriously…just click.

I sometimes think people get too precious about something like this. How many people around you while you are cooking up that tasty dish even notice what your character is wearing? Anyone ever come up and say man, that’s a bad hat, Harry?

Cook it, click it, move on I say. Or if there is that NPC that you can go to, to turn it off, then do that.

I mean, it’s kinda similiar to if every time you logged into windows by default there was a picture of a fat ugly person on your screen. Is it an easy fix? Yeah. Should I have to deal with it? No. Customization options are there to be custom, shouldn’t force weird defaults onto people.

PS: Yes I’m aware of the lock screen rotation, guess what, that shouldn’t be a default either, and one of the first things almost everybody who sets up a windows install turns off.

I made a Dk a chanter / tailor , before warbands were a thing , becuase I needed a tailor on that server to make bags.

He looks funny with plate armor and a chanting hat and wand

addon is leatrix plus. it permanently will remove all these profession transformations.

just click… lol
great response to a stupid thing that happens that shouldn’t by default.
if someone wants to log in everyday wearing a stupid floral hat and a ‘care bear’ back pack
THEy go can go click something everyday or talk to the NPC

It’s not that difficult. I believe in DF it was actually explained through some of the intro crafting quests. I don’t think it was covered in TWW. But it’s really not that big of a deal, although something explaining it might help some people.

This toon always logs on in the chef outfit.

Maybe cook once every couple of weeks, never logged off with it on. Mine and gemcraft multiple times but almost never log off in my mining or gem crafting outfit.

But no matter what, always log in on with my chef hat on.

Started happening week two or three.

Will give that NPC a review. IIRC the copy made it sound like you could set it so you would never use profession appearances. I’ve never been able to get that to work.

Hey now, it’s the topic in the post. Belittling players for getting annoyed isn’t right and, best of all, they found the solution here in the forum post.

Through some research and comments i found the person to turn this off.

Mahra Treebender

Since when is having a different opinion belittling someone? Did I actually say something personal about the OP?

Whenever I have an opinion to express on a post or a comment I will continue to share that opinion. The OP is perfectly entitled to make a post about a topic, just as I am perfectly entitled to voice my opinion on that topic, despite anyone trying to put me down for doing so.
