Crafting orders failure and Blizzard's response

Same here, can’t find one to fill. Certainly won’t be any low lvl crafting public orders at this point in the game unless your extremely lucky.

I say that b/c quests in the game give better loot, and most are lvling alts now and not mains.

Glad I made mules for crafting.

Get an alt and make an order yourself for whatever is cheap/easy to make. No excuses either for not having an alt since evokers take about an hour at most and can be in DF content.

Everyone with even a smidgen of common sense knew crafting orders would be a bust. This community and it’s absolute obsession with min maxing was NEVER going to tolerate any kind of model where they don’t get maximum quality out the gate…especially where quality doesn’t change the base mat costs. It may have been more acceptable if lesser ranks took less raw mats.

The dopey system should have had NPC orders too as a failsafe to at least let people pretend to engage with the system. To this literal day, I STILL have not seen one single blue quality gem come through as a crafting order and why should I? It’s far easier to just cut gems and toss them on the AH than go through the process to “request” one and then wait for someone to make it.

The system also needs to be region wide. Nobody really cares to get to know their local crafters. They just want the stuff they want made as quick as possible. Maybe you could have been clever and applied some kind of soft sort order by your server cluster but meh.

Everyone I know does.

Another thing that would help crafting is more training matrixes dropping from world quests. You can get level 1s from rares, and I think there was a level 2 in a WQ last week. But I have not seen anything over that for weeks, they were dropping in WQ the first 2 or 3 weeks. I know you can get them in dungeons and they scale to difficulty, but a few more tossed in WQ may also help public orders.

And help we get a decent weapon

How would this work for crafters that aren’t at 100% guarantied to proc the top quality? would you have to be at that level to be able to accept the order? or if you only had a 50% change and you took the order and failed, what happens to the mats and the crafting order?

I don’t play alts. I barely have time for my one character. I just managed to get everything squeezed in to keep me raiding.

And to be honest, I’ve never had much interest in another character anyways. I just won’t finish the quest that’s all :stuck_out_tongue:

I mean nobody is saying you need to play the alt. Like literally, in 1 hour or so, you can get an evoker through their start zone and into DF. Alts are automatically enabled for the adventure mode leveling where they can basically go anywhere they want and it is then a simple matter to fly yourself to the city where, even at 60, you can make crafting orders for yourself. You are missing out on a good chunk of specialization points each week

I don’t know how folks do it with this crafting system. It seems like a deliberate confusing mess for no reason. I was having ZERO fun with it so I stopped never to return. My gear is unenchanted and going to stay that way. I won’t get invited to group because of it and that’s fine I guess. I think the professions system is a failure in my book.

or make the quest autocomplete. one order drops off in requirement per week.

1st mistake, putting profession leveling in crafting orders… this turned off sooooooo many casuals and mediumcores… i cant emphasize enough how big a mistake this was.

2nd, as others have said, not having minimum/max though to be fair… no one is picking min… but at least if it wasnt connected to leveling it would be ok.

Their retrospection is half truths and a slanted, twisted vision of what is going on. It’s not just “not perfect” its mostly ignored, frustrating, and unused.

To me that sounds like a flop… It’s not a partial success… Because you know it’s a video game and if it’s not fun…

Blizzard clearly is sticking to their guns this time.

I applaud their strength and determination. The playerbase can be a bit … insufferable when they throw a tantrum.

They’re not wrong this time.

Letting it shake out is sensible… But blizzards take on it is flawed with rose colored glasses

what we need is to rationalize available supply. right now, with 20 orders/crafter, the available supply is too high. reduce it to 5/week for public orders. gradually lift it if demand … demands it.

the few orders that exist get insta-filled because why not at 20 / day?

20 / week would be too many, let alone 20/day.

The supply is too high? The demand is too low. They’re almost completely empty other than the most rarest of recipes.

There’s no need to put a crafting order in for a basic leveling helm… People are going to be stuck leveling for a 1/2 a year or more… The demand is not going to be there because they are worried about themselves.

Unless the objective was to only have 10 to 20% of the player base actually supplying everybody…
It IS an asenine system

you cant force demand.

unless you make gear lootable in pvp or something cra… heeeeyyy. what if blue loot can be looted off dead players? one item at random drops per corpse. that’ll fix it.

I’m of the mindset to get rid of the entire thing… There’s no reason they can’t just make things BOE instead of P and take out the middleman

well ,can’t you pretend they got rid of it and not look at it?

That’s what everyone’s doing.

It’s why it’s a flop.
And that wouldn’t even be so bad if you didn’t have to get the most rarest of recipes to level it yourself. I’m doing it and I’ve made my peace with it but my God is that stupid

i get some orders as blacksmith. not many but enough to finish my weekly.

i actually save my points now since i’m 100/100 and if an order pops that i dont know yet, i spend points towards it so i can fill it.

of course it got filled by somebody else before i got to click on it after spending 10 points but … oh well. i’m maxed, it’s free income from here to 2025.
