I rolled yet another alt on a new server. Even with all mats being provided, people want 10 to 15 THOUSAND gold as a tip, minimum, for gear crafts that are learned baseline by expanding their prof talent trees to where they’d be doing it anyway (engineering bracers, in this specific case of mine).
Sorry, but that’s 3/4 of the entirety of my gold earned 1 to 70, having not spent a single copper on anything that wasn’t repair bills.
Even with WQs, you’d still have to supplement that with farming old world mats or something (because current content is absolute garbage for anything that isn’t rousing/awakened) for a few days just because of AH no-lifers undercutting even when I initially undercut to as low as 60% of whatever is the current listing price for something.

As bad as scammers are, and they absolutely deserve retribution laid upon them for trying to game the system, the greedy dingleberries who gouge to the extent I describe are no less guilty of making crafting orders a hellscape.
No wonder even on smaller servers with grossly-weaker economies get stupid: they look at larger servers and their pricing schemes and seem to think the smaller server is able to support that level of insane greed and try to get rich quick.
Look, I’m not asking for an elemental lariat or raid-exclusive recipe from the hottest new(er) content. I shouldn’t, and no one else should either, have to entertain delusions of grandeur and be perpetually broke just because we want to get 463 gear crafted from recipes that technically just about EVERY self-proclaimed eNtRePrEnEuR has.
Sorry, but I guess I’m just a shlub when I provide all mats needed and think 2k as a tip is being decent. I guess NOT?
