What exactly is Ingenuity?
And why can’t Wowhead tell me which enchant to put on my crafting tool?

When you use concentration to boost a craft to the next rank, ingenuity gives you a chance to get a refund of some of it.
(Off the top of my head I can’t give you exact math of how it translates to a % chance/amount)
Agreed. My game style is ‘plodder’. Some day I might progress to ’ filthy casual ’ but probably not. So I have no need for all the fancy stuff from crafting even though I have tried to craft some. My professions are gathering leathers, fish, herbs and ores that I flog off in the AH. Win for crafters and cash win for me. Yes there is a particular fish that sells on my server for 800+ gold each, but don’t tell anyone, ok . P.S. yes, I like farming.
WoD crafting was the last time it was good, the entire expansion the gear and weapons sold good and it was not a chore to do.
I just wish for three things:
- the ability to make your own crafting table.
- that you can respec your skills.
- More patron orders that don’t use the rarer reagents.
None need to be free.

crafting was better in dragonflight than it is now. patron orders are by far the worst. i havent even bothered with tailoring since they changed cloth to only drop for tailors. i went from being able to level tailoring as i level to now i have to spend gold if i want to try and level this. i shouldnt need other professions to craft stuff for my professions, it feels like everything needs herbalism

On the other hand, plenty of players will stay engaged longer because professions aren’t meaningless after the first 3 months of the expansion.

Crafting system is alright. They just need clearer catch up mechanics.
The issue is work orders. That’s why I don’t craft current content anymore. Spamming Trade isn’t fun.
Have a base item that sells on the AH. Let players slot in their own crests. You can have a vendor item that a crafter can attach to it to make it BoE. Have it cost 2k or more. That way those who enjoy work orders can get a better deal.
If the only reason you used to play was the terrible, outdated, non fashion, useless professions model, good riddance. The game is better with the new crafting system.
Since Dragonflight expansion I feel more a crafter than ever and remind the old days where we actually interacted with people for crafting.
Very satisfying and rewarding.

It depends what you want from the game tbh. If you want to raid and do dungeons its a pointless,useless,tedious, and time consuming chore.
If you wanna afk in trade chat its the coolest thing since sliced bread.

If you want to raid and do dungeons, then do it. Professions are not mandatory. You can get your gear crafted by someone else.

Speaking of mining, what’s the deal with veins popping out explosives now…? Was this a thing in DF?
There’s a reason why the AH goblins sitting playing the market everyday are making so much gold it’s because they only cared enough to try make sense of the garbage system.
They tried to make a path of exile system of crafting but ended up worse than that.

You still have to interact with the system since they always give it pity BiS items… What I think they should do is lock crafting behind pve and pvp content so there is more natural back and forth between it.
Have CE unlock one specialization for crafting and 2100 pvp rating another… then 2600 your last tree. Make it so you really gotta play the game you know?
And what is the problem to have to “interact” with the system?
Also, both Raid and Mythic+ best in slot for Frost mage… have no crafted gear

Wrong. I never did any of what you said. I don’t even know what “TSM premium” is.
I crafted because it was fun to have my alts be able to benefit from the professions on other alts. I liked having a self-sufficient alt army. I played alts because of professions.
Now I just don’t play as much, because it’s not fun anymore. I doubt that was the goal. I also doubt that it will ever change back, sadly. I HATE the new system. HATE, HATE, HATE IT.

That still works.
You can have all of that.
You can only get scammed if you deal, directly, with the other person. If they ain’t in your guild, don’t trade with them. Simple as that. I’ve never gotten scammed off the AH.
whats hte point when you are going to just replace that gear with a quest rewards in two levels? THe only reason I keep my BS is to make gear my Enchanter can DE.
