Crafting as a new player in Shadowlands

So, I’m not a “new” player so much as a returning player, but I’ve never really gotten very far in the game. I made a new Paladin and started on the exile island, which then shipped me off to Kul-Tiras. So far so good.

I want my Paladin to be a blacksmith, so once I arrived in Kul Tiras I picked up Blacksmithing and Mining, but I haven’t seen a single copper node anywhere…do I need to take Kul-Tiran mining and Kul-Tiran blacksmithing to start? I saw those were available at the trainer, but wasn’t sure if I should take them yet.

Professions work a bit differently now, they’re split up by expansion. Go back to the Mining and Blacksmithing trainers in Boralus and purchase “Kul Tiran Mining” and “Kul Tiran Blacksmithing”.

You won’t find any copper ore in the BfA zones. The Kul Tiran Blacksmithing patterns will use Monelite and Storm Silver to start with. And you don’t need to smelt the ore into bars anymore, the newer blacksmithing patterns just use the ore.
