The item in question is the Deathmaker 225 Cape. I crafted the wrong item due to being confused by the adventure guide information, it said it could be a back item.
All this only to find out afterwards that all the stats on the cape are red… I don’t have a lot of time to play as it stands and now I need to start all over again, its going to take me weeks to get the mats 
I opened a support issue to see if I can get this undone, so I can craft the plate legs instead of this useless cape.
I feel angry, disappointed and discouraged.
anyone else made this mistake?

Hopefully, support can undo it.
But at least this crafting system is way way way better than the chance system we had in Legion.

I hate this system. Without reading up on third party sites, I would have no idea what can be used on what, how much I need to do this or that. There is just a huge lack of information in this expansion.

I have a fury warrior, I wanted the deathmaker legendary, and the adventure guide said that the legendary was for legs and back. So I build myself a back peace.
I have limited playtime.

Wait, I’m confused… the memory cannot be applied to a cloak? WoWhead shows legs and back, so why are the stats showing red on your item?
I’m confused on how in a 4 click and confirmation required operation, you managed to craft the wrong legendary.

Don’t feel bad I have legs of Norgannon. Meanwhile I have to wait till Sludgefist shows up on CN LFR.
I only farm maybe 300 ash per week anyhow. Makes me wonder if having a legendary is really worth it.

I’m curious if maybe OP is in the wrong spec and the cloak shows red to him. I just logged in on my Rogue and I’m still able to see my Outlaw ring just fine while in Sub spec, so I’m wondering if maybe it’s one of his addons or if Warriors see off-spec legendaries as red.

We’ve seen it several times over in the CS forums. As long as you put the ticket in immediately, there’s a good chance that they can help out.

Possibly but armory shows OP in Fury spec.
?? The page in game with the powers says what pieces of gear they go to. You also get a quest to get the exact currency you need. Like it guides you step by step in a very simple way.

How are people managing to craft the wrong legendary. Just how.
This. It’s pretty silly how much stuff I need to look up in this expansion from third party sites due to poor information in-game. I keep running into “time to go back to wowhead again” scenarios all the time, especially with a few of the WQs when I did those for the first time.
