Crafted Items Window

Has anyone found a purpose for this thing? It just seems pointless when I know what I’m selecting to craft, and anything I craft will then be in my bags. Why do I need a whole new window showing me what I already decided to do? Is there something Dragonflight specific that benefits from this? And more importantly, has anyone found an addon to disable it?

you get Artisan’s Mettle from crafting and you can get mats returned from specialization so that widow shows you these items.

If that’s it, then those are extremely underwhelming reasons for this silly little window.

I also find it annoying.

The more I think about it, I don’t think this window really does much to help even for those given reasons. That information is already in the chat box, the window is just superfluous and taking up space. In the case of larger craft sessions, you’re likely just rolling with whatever happens anyways knowing that you’ll get X% mats back; or you look at your stock and make a pre/post comparison. I doubt anyone is going to scroll through this list adding up 2 ore here, 3 ore there, etc. for dozens of crafts.

It shows you procs, mettle, and what quality you craft something at since there is multiple qualities, it will be very important in DF.

In terms of just crafting (not end-game usefulness or anything, let’s ignore that for now), but for crafting… let’s agree it WILL be very important for DF.

Okay. But did the window need to be 3x larger than what it was??

Now, any time I want to search for items in my bags, I have to shift them to a different bag just so I can see them.

This is going to prove especially problematic in DF since the new Materials bag is automatically covered up by the proff tab.

Why is it soooo big???

Drift addon lets you scale it, but it’s extended from before because there’s a new part of the window for your crafting stats, which are also important.

Honestly, I’m trying to ignore 3rd party solutions like this … SINCE WE JUST HAD A UI OVERHAUL that’s supposed to be a FOCAL POINT of the new expac! lololol

Is there a better example of blithering incompetence than: 1> You release a UI overhaul, 2> You “upgrade” professions, but obviously don’t consider how elements interact with the current UI, 3> You can’t FIX these UI problems… with the new UI tools you were just given.

3a> I STILL can’t even resize my text box and have it retain my settings upon logging out.

This expansion should have been released in March, '23.

UI overhaul had nothing to do with the Crafting window, just main UI, at this point at least.

Weird, works fine for me, addon conflict maybe?

Doubt that would go over well, even with the ui changes the majority are still likely going to use their favorite UI addons

Because we made mistakes this is where you can see if it is the level and grade you wish to make. I tried it out and it keeps going back to the first recipe on the list.

My point was that you linked a 3rd party app that can solve the problem of the crafting window being too big; but since we JUST HAD a UI overhaul, the default UI should be able to do this. You shouldn’t NEED a 3rd party UI app… when we JUST GOT an “updated” UI.

Nope. I’ve turned off all addons. It never saves the text box size. It keeps all my bar info, it saves a lot of things for ME that others seem to be having issues with. For ME, the text box is the problem, but for others, it’s different UI elements. It’s just… broken.

And I know there would have been wailing and gnashing of teeth if the release was pushed back 4 months. To which I say: Delaying games that AREN’T READY while taking that time to polish them and insure they ARE READY … is what made Blizzard the most highly regarded game development studio ON THE PLANET.

The people that don’t respect that… should be flatly IGNORED.

DF isn’t ready. Period.

It always reverts back to the highest expansion you have done crafting in. You should be able to keep it on the expansion you are currently working on, rather than having to dig down every time you need to look at something.

I found an easier way have the ingredients in the regent back then look for the recipe . Looking up the stuff causes it to go to the recipe on top and can make this mistake.

The rest is easy to fellow in sections<no problem there.

Main content is ready, UI is minor.

If it COULDN’T be fixed with addons there’d be more a problem, but the wow ui has always been something to be fixed with addons since day one.

I respectfully disagree.

I’ve been in beta for months, it’s a fun game finally.

Honestly the whole professions overhaul is a joke.

The chat log already accomplishes this.

Chat log also accomplishes this just fine, as well as simply looking at the items you crafted. We didn’t need a whole new window for MoP, WoD(?), Legion, and BfA quality upgrades we sometimes got while crafting. There’s already an animation that plays, and when you look in your bags to see the normally green quality item is blue… you know the item upgraded.

The window isn’t adding anything that isn’t already very apparent. It’s just taking up space.
