So one thing I have noticed when looking around the mages on the forum is some peoples crafted gear/embellishments are all over the place. This can also affect dps more than most people think. With Catalyst coming out Tuesday this is to try and save someone from changing a slot into tier that hurts them (shoulders) due to not using amice of the blue.
The three ideal slots that you craft are going to be
Neck - Elemental Lariat
Shoulders - Amice of the Blue
Weapon - Seared Hex Sword (with alchemist Flavor Packet if possible)
Bracers - engineering with battle rez (if you do lots of keys or raid group is small and doesn’t have lots of battle rez classes)
This covers your two embellishments (Lariat/Amice) and your best ideal upgrades.
After that I recommend using sparks to craft engineering bracers and then either a ring or your lowest slot piece is.

This shows how out of touch you are.
Azureweave out sims amice by far.
Seared hex sword is worse than staff of isles due to having to use 1 spark vs 2 and same with primals.
We can all read wowhead.
What you don’t know is wowhead is wrong on alot of mage stuff.
Dude you actually think I use wowhead for my sources.
Logs/Altered time > Wowhead >Lawgistika.
Yeah, but if you were in AT you would know this.
I am in AT. Maybe you should ask them to help with your logs.
Way to come in and completely derail the thread.
Then why are you giving people false information?
Because it isnt false information.
That’s not true. Amice is bis for shoulders.

I reread it just to make sure I worded it correctly.
Dude just wants to troll
It is, but if you want to run 4 pc, 2pc azureweave is better.
Sim it. People lie, numbers don’t.
You’re not giving up lariat to run two piece azure weave
Personally I use Lariat and Amice for my 2 but the difference really isn’t that big which is why you see people all over the place.

Yes but bis is still bis.
The main thing i wastalking about was I see people using the mastery embellishment
Sims aren’t totally infallible either. For example, in the case of the Amice in particular sims don’t seem to factor in that it does Arcane damage which is boosted by Arcane’s mastery. So the Amice will deal roughly 20% more damage (depending on your mastery) on an Arcane Mage than any other cloth spec.

Subcreation shows 59% run amice while .43% run azureweave. (mythic boss logs for arcane)

52% for frost rub amice
While .98% run azureweave
53% run tier for fire
31.78% run amice
1.20% run azureweave
I think it’s safe to say that I was correct
And all three specs are running lariat/amice for embellishments.
Fire stats pretty interesting. Might be the small sample size but its interesting people are choosing to run tier over amice. Possibly because of the fire damage ring?
I’m currently running tier in shoulders because I haven’t gotten a tier helm to drop yet.
I didn’t look very in depth but that would be my guess.
