Crackshot BtE cooldown and tracking of CD/CDR/Buffs

Please make it so Crackshot can be used even when Between the Eyes is on cooldown. It’s really annoying have to track 2 different CDs, of which 1 gets CDR.

Please make up your mind what you want us to track on Outlaw, it feels like I have to track even more things in 10.2. The spec is supposed to be all about Roll the Bones, but that’s pretty much the only thing I’m not looking at, and i still barely have time to check what’s going on with mobs in M+ due to the many different things that need tracking.

Don’t get me wrong, crackshot is much better than the old audacity rotation, but now I have to constantly prevent myself from pressing BtE to not have it on cooldown for a stealth window, which requires quite some mental capacity (or an elaborate WA).

You want to stop WAs from solving mechanics, but now we just have even more mechanics to automatically solve:

  • RtB WA that tells me whether or not I should press the button, because realistically speaking I don’t have the time to consider which of the 6 buffs I got, remember what all of them do, and then also play around min/maxing fishing for buffs (I rather have BfA fishing tbh)
  • Crackshot WA to determine:
    • How long I have to press the button before I waste a CD, meaning a WA that takes several different buffs into consideration and whether or not my BtE is on CD
    • Show a glow when I have 6+ CP because I don’t have time to look at several locations on my screen as regaining CP during this window is random and requires reaction
  • A WA to tell me I shouldn’t press BtE because either Vanish will come off CD soon through CDR with varying CDR due to RtB, or because Shadow Dance comes off CD within a reasonable time including BtE CDR

There’s just way too much tracking required. While the rework ensured the playstyle was a lot smoother, it also feels like it only introduced more complexity to reach the same DPS as other classes and specs, while this was already higher than it should’ve been.

Feels reminiscent of SL outlaw. I like it a lot. Definitely takes some getting used to.

you dont need all these fancy tell me when WA. All you need is one that shows the subterfuge buff, which essentially is just moving that tiny buff icon from the top right corner to a position that can be seen easily by YOU, ideally as a progress bar.

Also sounds like you need to find a better RTB buff wa, most people have that in the middle just below the character.

Before you say why we need all these WA to play outlaw. You can 100% play outlaw without WA if you can stomach constantly looking at the buffs on the top right corner. WA is just qol.

Yes, but this bar needs multiple buffs it works on, and you also need to be able to see your combo points because you don’t want to cast it at <6 afaik. I can only look at 1 spot at the time so it makes sense to make a single WA that shows everything.

No, the WA is fine. Having 6 buffs showing with text I need to read and individual cooldown timers for each buff is just going to make it even harder to see everything as there’s more information that needs to be processed.

It’s the typical “need”, you don’t need WAs, but you’ll can’t effectively play it at high level without. Just like you don’t need to do Mythic raiding for M+, but it surely makes it a ton easier.

your combo points bar should be within view of your other WA. the point of having them is so you can position all the important info in an area you can comfortably view at all times

The problem is that there’s only as much space, and the default UI does not properly facilitate that while it should. Having to use addons just to make a spec playable should be the opposite of game design, not the baseline.

I’m not even a rogue expert but you need to actively be watching for cooldowns on vanish, shadow dance, and ghost strike to properly execute crackshot windows while also needing to maintain SnD and RTB while also tracking your pistol shot procs so you don’t overcap combo points while managing the cooldown on BtE so you don’t put it on CD when your vanish/shadow dance come up.

I come from enhancement main, I’m very used to complicated rotations. This one is just a straight up horror show. The meta slaves are gonna drive themselves nuts with this one. I commend all you outlaw rogues who’ve mastered this - it looks extremely difficult to maximize.

I macro’d ghost strike into BtE, I really cba tracking that. SnD you mostly don’t have to track, but you do have to track the CD of BtE to make sure it’s not on CD for vanish and shadow dance. This to ensure you can keep spamming crackshot so you don’t lose too much uptime and CDR on AR. If this doesn’t go right you end up energy starved real quick and it’s hard to recover (harder than it ever should be).
