I dont understand why I cant use the item “Crab Shank” on the spirit beast crab aka Ghostcrawler is this a bug or something intentional because its seems silly to not be able to use the item on a crab.
Since Ghostcrawler is not a crab, it makes perfect sense.
Ghostcrawler is a Spirit Beast. That is a completely different creature from any other pet family, no matter what the shape. Gondria is not a cat. Skoll is not a wolf. Ban’thalos is not a bird. Ghostcrawler is not a crab.
So, not a bug.
I mean come on man its literally a crab lol
It’s literally a spirit in the shape of a crab. It doesn’t even have any of the abilities of any pet in the crab family. It’s no more a crab than Hati is.
A spirit beast that is identical in appearance and function, of a crab.
0/10 troll.
I really feel like you are splitting hairs here its a toy it should probably be able to hold the crab shank.
Pointing out relevant facts is not trolling.
The behavior Camborghini is complaining about isn’t a bug for the reasons I discussed. If OP were serious, they’d post in the Hunter class forum so a developer would see it. Here? QA will look at it and reject it “NOTABUG Working as designed.”
If where i posted the thread is what you have an issue with you could have stated that I genuinely wasn’t sure where to post a thread like this since to me it seemed like a bug or maybe and oversight on Blizzards end.
Posting is the Bug Report forum for intentional features in the game is a common posting failure, and it guarantees your idea will go nowhere. I explained why it’s not a bug, and I explained it in the only terms that matter: Blizzard’s intentional design choices regarding Spirit Beasts.
Seriously. Post someplace besides Bug Reports. Class forum would be perfect. And the devs actually see suggestions to change design choices there.
Alternatives: General Discussion or the in-game suggestion menu.
Just because an animal is in spirit form SHOULDNT make it not that animal.
But really, who cares.
Maybe use a different crab pet.
I suspect Camborghini wants specifically to use Ghostclaw; any hunter who went out of the way to get the Crab Shank probably has a normal crab pet to use it with, but on the surface it seems inconsistent Ghostcrawler is an exception.
It’s an easily explained exception, and the explanation is technically right (the best kind of right), but I’m sure it’s not satisfying to anyone.
The simple reality is that each pet can only belong to one family. There’s only “Spirit Beast” or “Crab” - not both. As such, the Ghostcrawler pet - which is a Spirit Beast that happens to look like a crab - is functioning as best it can given the restrictions. For all the difference it makes it may as well be a blue cube.
There’s no “technically right” about it - it’s the right answer. If you mouse-over Ghostcrawler, tamed or not, it will say that it’s a Spirit Beast. The toy requires a Crab, which is what the mouse-over tooltip will say about an actual Crab pet. Not liking or disagreeing with the right answer doesn’t change that.
But what if I continuously cry about it?
The only thing that happens is that your eyes get puffy and red.
Seriously, has throwing tantrums ever worked? Make the suggestion someplace appropriate for feature changes, because no amount of foot-stamping and breath-holding will convince QA that a feature working as designed is a bug.
