What’s the significance of the Q-Code reader? I’m in Australia and have an MSI board at the moment so was going to get the msi b650 gaming wifi board because the power connectors would be in the same spot so it’s easier to unplug, remove board, replug lol. It’s also quite cheap, not sure if it has the reader tho.
When you have a problem with a component or worse the PC wont boot? the Q-code reader tells you a code. You can then lookup that code in the manual to see what component is causing the problem. So you dont have to go through every single component to find the problem. Cuts diagnosis time down by close to 90%
Everyone always says “I dont need a Q code reader”. Well yeah. You dont until you have an issue with a component. Then you say to yourself. Dang I should have got a mobo with a Q-Code reader!
If you are Dead Set on MSI the MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi or MPG X670E CARBON WIFI is your got to. Both have a Q-Code Reader. Best bang for your buck wise. However Im not sure about AU but here in the US the ASUS ROG Strix B850-E Gaming WiFi is cheaper and has a TON more features. With all this said if you really prefer MSI? MSI MAG X870 Tomahawk WiFi Hands down
Thank you, and when you say fresh install, is a “reinstall but keep my files” type of install alright?
You can but when swapping platforms and more importantly motherboards its always best to backup your stuff and do a fully fresh install. Treat it like like a new PC. Because it technically. Then reinstall all your files. Its always a good rule of thumb
The 5070ti will be fine, and even overkill for WOW. Don’t choose a GPU based on WOW alone…WOW is not very hard on the GPU, and is mostly CPU bound. Choose a GPU based on what kinds of other games you will be playing. If you’re going to be playing modern games that use ray tracing and such, you really want the best you can afford. If you are super into ray tracing, Nvidia is about 3 generations ahead of AMD. For rasterization, they’re much closer.
