There’s a vendor next to the mount vendor that trades the coins you get from random events and Researchers Under Fire for the baubles.
It’s an entirely pointless step since the conversion is 1:1 and the coins aren’t used for anything else, but it exists for… flavor, I guess?
(technically the coins could be used for one-time purchases of small amounts of S2 Whelp/Drake crests, but those are gone now)
