Covenant NPCs remark on other Covenants

So I’m Night Fae and I’ve never noticed that I’m getting random responses from NPCs belonging to the other Covenants.

The Kyrian refer to the Night Fae as a noble allies, the Venthyr invite me to join them when I’m done playing, and the Necrolords refer to the Night Fae as tricksters and speak of their strength.

I feel that it’s rather interesting insight into how the other covenants feel towards one another and I’m curious on what response others have been getting.

Faeries, check. Blue Angels, check. Necromancer flesh-shapers, check. Vampire S&M dungeoners, check.

And then the Maw, butthole of the nowherest of nowhere’s…

Oh boy…

I’m Venthyr

Night Fae say “Night be with you Venthyr, though I’m certain it already is”

Necrolord say either “Careful, you’ll get your shoes covered in slime” (paraphrasing) and “It’s a shame you picked formality over strength” (paraphrasing)

Kyrians call us formidable allies I think

I like it. It makes me feel like I’m actually a Kyrian rather than just a mortal helper. One of the Night Fae said “Good fortune, Kyrian. I hope Bastion has weathered the drought well” as I ran past. Now if only my own covenant would recognise this fact and let me go ham in the Path of Ascension arena like my soul binds.

I thought it was a nice little touch added to the expansion. They could have gone the route of ‘You joined them? Bah!’ but they didn’t. Each covenant recognizes that the other has its place in the Shadowlands and there is no jealousy or hatred between them.

The Kyrian line (which I’ve heard a lot, for some reason) is “The Venthyr understand that the past is a burden. Our covenants have much in common, $name.”

This is all interesting. Where do these lines come from? NPCs around Oribos? I can’t say I’ve noticed any yet.

I want to hear what they say when you’re with Maldraxxus.

Kyrestia calling Denathrius “our brother” was also interesting. It made it sound like their pantheon, however diverse, was pretty close and united.

Night Fae wonder what the smell is then realize it’s a Necrolord lol.

NPCs in their respective zones. For example I’ve gotten responses from the House of Plague remnants when I’ve gone over there for one reason or another.

I got this one too.

Rude.

Two stick out to me.

On my Night Fae Druid, the Kyrians are nice, and give warm words about me and the Winter Queen. Aw, shucks. Warm fuzzies.

But then my Venthyr Warlock gets :poop: on in Maldraxxas. I picked the Venthyr based on style and lore, despite the fact that the Kyrian have WAAAY better Gameplay bonuses for Affliction. So when the folk in Maldraxxas say: “A shame you chose formality over force,” it feels quite literal, and almost like a slap in the face from Blizz, lol.

One of the Kyrians at Hero’s Rest mentions the similarities of them and the Venthyr through easing a soul’s burdens of their previous lives. Sounded actually sympathetic!

Been keeping an eye out while questing in other Covenant zones since hearing about this. One of the Maldraxxus NPCs says, “Come. Show me the elegant fighting moves you’ve learned in Bastion.”

Found some lines in Revendreth.

“Of all the covenants, I’d wager the Kyrian have the most mundane sinstones.”

“Those stewards of yours appear well trained, name. You know, we have some crypts in need of scrubbing…”

So far seems like Maldraxxus admires Kyrian fighting styles, and in Revendreth they find Kyrians boring, but do seem to envy the Stewards.

Night fae comments on kyrian wings.

I’ve only seen a couple comments in Ardenweald about the Necrolords so far, and none of them were negative.

“We stand with our Necrolord allies,” was one. Eager to see more.

EDIT: Just got a new one. Landed in Aspirant’s Rest in Bastion and the innkeeper there says, “I thought you better suited for service instead of conflict, Maw Walker. Perhaps I was mistaken.”
