Hi all, i need some input about which one to go to im stuck between: kyrian or venthyr.
Im having a hard time because i will be doing raids and mythic plus, and ill dabble alittle in pvp
But mostly raiding and key stones. What would you all recommend.
Thank you in advance for the tips
I have been told Venthyr is a little bit better number wise but I went Kyrian and love it.
DT is amazing for bursting down trash in M+ and probably the best PvP choice by a long shot with the conduit that buffs it. The on demand burst and extra HP really helps get things going. Overall I just found it the most fun choice between all of our options and it works in more situations than Venthyr.
I have been playing Prot, Holy, and Ret and find it the best choice for multi specing. Holy pretty much needs to go Kyrian and it’s a really good M+, and PvP choice for Prot too.

As it stands venthyr is slightly stronger numbers wise for ret atm in pve, but for pvp and multi speccing kyrian is better. If you want my opinion I’d say go kyrian the 4 min cd on venthyr ability is not fitting for plus imo and it basically is only good for raiding.

Thank you both for the tips, i problu should have mentioned this but i only play ret, so id only be dpsing. but sounds like i should go kyrian even if i am only dpsing
Well, not exactly, it’s good for M+ as well, it’s just that during fortified you might want to use on adds if your tank does big pulls or save it for bosses during Tyrannical. The 4min is a bit clunky, yes, but totally workable in dungeons and raids.
Depends on your group, your style of play etc. I went Kyrian because I know my M+ group love to bring me extra friends. I pretty much only tank. I don’t ret in raids or M+ I did not really like the cast time on the Venthyr ability nor the long cd time. I did investigate the soul binds and found them to be close enough really.
There is also nothing more satisfying in a dungeon or a Torghast run than seeing all those shields pop out at once.
YMMV

What spec are you playing?
Ive only played prot pally for the past 2 expansions, but honestly look into “Night Fae”, it works great for paladins and ive been advocating for it to all ret/prot paladins I come across. You get the movement ability that has 3 blinks and you can even use it to carry the flag in Warsong, also blessing of the seasons provides so much utility, 2/4 increase your damage, its amazing, 1/4 increase your healing and and received, and the last 1/4 slow your enemies movement speed and attack speed. This covinent works great in PVP and PVE(Raids/Mythics) and should def be considered, however i will say make your own decision, but do not sleep on Night Fae. All the others just felt super underwhelming to me.
I love the idea of a buff ability with NF but the way it rotates just ruins it for me.
Not a fan of the healing buff or the one that slows your enemy as they seem so unreliable. We will want to rotate over to the dps buffs right away rather than holding onto them for situations they would actually be good in.
I like venthyr alot, both mechanically and thematically (My favorite archetype in magic is black/white vampires and venthyr paladin nails that hard.). The cooldown is long and awkward but when ashen hallow is out you feel powerful. For pvp it might not be the best covenant, but Ashen hallow and door of shadows both being shadow school has it’s perks. Plus it’s always fun to fight someone who doesn’t know not to stand in the big red death zone or to drop it on top of a big battle/flag.
Not to mention door of shadows doesn’t seem very limited in the ways you can use it for vertical mobility. As long as you can see a place, it works, and more often than not the very edge of a ledge counts as on top of the ledge.
Thanks everyone for their input its helped alot
