As a Death Knight that was really really looking forward to getting the bone wings from Maldraxxus for my transmog… and that pretty much always is lugging around a giant 2H weapon… usually an Apocalypse skin…
Please figure out a way to make this optional, and not a guaranteed thing.
I would much prefer you dont do this than force it, and just let the weapons clip.
This is going to make these new cloak transmogs useless for a huge swath of us that typically use 2H weapons.
Please find a way to enable it hiding the weapons on/off so we can pick which we’d like.
So long as making the cloak invisible via mog returns the weapon, I can live without displaying them fancy cloaks. The fantasy of my Arms warrior is that he shows off his big sword not a pretty little cloak.
I’m just really disappointed. I’ve been looking forward to those Bone Wings now since they teased them at Blizzcon. They were one of the top things I was looking forward to in the xpack. Obviously, there’s more in the xpack, but I really really wanted those bone wings.
But not if they are going to make me look like I’m walking around disarmed.
That’s just crap.
There’s other characters I might not care about as much if the weapons were hidden, but not on this main.
It just seems like a really terrible decision. I get that some weapons clip weird. I get some people probably would like to be able to shut that off.
So I’m not saying they shouldn’t have an option for the folks who would want to turn the weapon off for the cloak… but come on… give us that don’t the ability to keep our weapons.
Walking around like you’re disarmed as someone that’s not a primary spellcaster will just look awful.
Yeah I agree with you too. Given that they have asked us to commit to one covenant only, they could have similarly put more effort into how the cloaks interact with weapons.
I’m actually really excited to hear that. I prefer my weapons not show, and usually try and find the smallest ones possible. Heck, in FF14 I straight out hide them.
That said, I agree it should be optional. If people want clipping, let them clip.
That’s part of the thing, Covenants were a huge selling point for this xpack, and the new cloak transmogs a big part of the aesthetics we get from it.
New cloaks! That’s awesome. Not the same kind of boring cloth things we’ve been using for the past 16 years that though graphics got better, really never changed.
But if they’re going to make us look like we’re not wielding a weapon, thats a huge turn off for me. I don’t want to have to choose one or the other. I’d prefer my weapon clip, than that I look like I’m disarmed even if it looks a little weird.
We’re supposed to be these mega fighters and warriors, and have faced down challenges across the span of multiple worlds… it makes no sense to not be wielding a weapon.
I have a ton of alts, and I was planning on making sure to get all the different covenant transmogs across the xpack. And I wouldn’t mind if say I had one of my mages or druids, or priest, warlock…etc not wear a weapon. Their power lies in spellcasting anyway.
But my warriors? My DK? Hunter? Any of my especially melee classes that have 2Hs… I want to see those.
And to not be able to, or get to choose not to use one of the big new features does not feel good.
