Anyone know if any specs work well against low to mid level hunters in pvp? My feral druid just gets kited non stop in stv/hammerfall but hunters and I’m tempted to make a toon purely for revenge
Depends on what you mean by low level. By your example I’m assuming mid 30s.
Probably warlock, warrior, ret pally. I don’t know when pallies get freedom but that is crucial against hunters.
Feral druid shouldn’t have issues. Get within arms reach and destroy them. Shape shift out of slows and roots. Rejuv yourself and keep on them.
Thats why hunters are a great class, a good hunter can counter just about everything. The only class I avoid is shadow priests, but 1v1 i can still beat them reliably its just a pain. Also druid are bad is more of the issue here. Ive never been like wow look at this feral druid trying to kill me in a non joking manner
I run out of mana from power shifting before I can get to them. If I get a few lucky crits I can survive but With concussion shot and aspect of the cheetah it’s difficult for me to get close enough to do damage.
I just roll need on maces and wands. Ruins their day.
If they’re good you wont. Just be in deadzone.
How do I stay in dead zone with pet stun or trap? I may need to give up a dps talent while leveling for feral charge. I’m an idiot I totally forgot about that
i dont see why rogues, warriors, or shamans would have a problem.
or try a FAP, should work.
Rogue in stealth frags up pretty much anyone if they get that first combo off. Just sayin’.
Get the PvP trinket. A hunters first job with a druid is to either cause you to be stuck chasing or stuck running.
No you cant beat a hunter who knows how to kite at low levels ( I guess free action potion would give you a chance, but I don’t spend money for battlegrounds )
dots might kill hunter, but only after he kills you. He would be too far to get seduced by succ, you can’t exactly fear him or pet because pushback is too hard. You might outtank him in demo build with two blueberries, but affliction is better for mob grind.
And mana burning arrow is just complete bs. Why it’s instant, why it’s not a 2.5s cast like priests and warlocks.
yeah viper sting is crazy in vanilla, like 300 mana per tick, and it hardly costs mana for them to use, why a hunter has a pet and can remove 1200 mana at the cost of 150 mana is beyond me.
Hunters are King at low level PVP, Obviously if your skilled enough you can make many things work, But hunters take very little skill to do a lot up to like level 39 even after that they are really damn good
This has a lot to do with when abilities show up for different classes as you rank up.
Really the biggest advantage of a hunter is the tracking. Getting the first big hits in will win most fights. Like if you as a druid came across a hunter farming mobs, you should be able to kill them. Classes that definitely kill them if they get to open up on the hunter are locks, shadow priests and mages (in the 30s, in the 60s scatter + trap can turn it around verse a mage, though most locks and priests should kill any hunter they jump, especially a lock. In fact a lock with succubus can seduce the hunter and kill the pet and then kill the hunter)
So if a hunter (in the 30s) is out roaming with tracking, actively looking to fight, they will always be tough 1v1 since they can run from tough fights and jump those who are PvEing. Rogues can jump such hunters and can win but they have to be a well played rogue with everything up. Warriors, at nearly all levels, it is FAP and win, don’t FAP and lose.
Druids can do very well but need the right abilities, no idea off-hand when they show up and if they are in PvE builds.
well druids certainly suck vs em… never forget this legendary video…
Can only win with dash
rogue to gank them is the easiest option
or mage if you are skilled
They are pretty king at high end level 60 pvp too, they can get rofl 1 shotted by shamans ele or enh , but that’s about it, they are total healer killers, all it takes is 2 vipers and that healer is ready to hearthstone out of the battleground already.
