Could we please get a server with a faster release schedule?
I think Everquest has really spoiled me with their progression servers where expansions launch every 2-3 months. The faster releases keep me from getting bored/burnt out on doing the same stuff all the time, and then there’s a whole bunch of new stuff coming out every few months. I’m not suggesting the exact same amount of time for WoW, but when I look at the roadmap and see 1 year of Classic… I just don’t get how people last that long. I get to Molten Core (if I make it to max level at all) and do it once maybe twice and I’m like… welp, that’s enough of that. I guess one problem I have with early WoW raids is the amount of trash. That’s something I really admire about later Everquest and Final Fantasy XIV is that you pretty much just zone straight in to a boss fight. Early MMOs have too much trash and it really does nothing but waste your time. I think if WoW Classic launched a raid tier around once a month maybe, it would actually keep me playing.
Another thing I’d like to see on a faster paced server is an EXP bonus, 2x feels pretty good. The Everquest progression server that I play on also has 2x raid loot and raid currency (obviously only relevant later on), which is something that I feel is important on servers where content is coming out faster.
I really wanted to play through the timeline from Vanilla to Cataclysm but the amount of time you have to spend in each phase is just way too long, especially for something that has already been experienced before. But that’s what the normal servers are there for, the people that want the slower timeline.
Different server types is something you really aught to look into more - I appreciate that there are PVE, PVP, and Hardcore servers to choose from… but, for example, instead of just totally banning GDKP, why didn’t you just make a server specifically for it? There are also a bunch of people begging for a RPPVP server. And I doubt I’m the only one that jumps on the shiny new server bandwagon but gets bored because of long content cycles and is looking for something faster paced.
