Could we get Mail-armor that's a little more regal-looking and subtle scale-armor, like Wrathion's jacket?

I feel like the Evoker is the perfect candidate for something that looks like a true “Battle-mage”.

Having recently leveled up a Hunter, I’ve honestly been surprised that… well, I don’t feel like there’s really a lot of “identity” in Mail-armor. Plate always looks like Plate, Cloth always looks like Cloth, Leather… well, sometimes it looks like plate, too, but there’s a healthy variety.

Mail-armor, though, seems to just be a hodgepodge of “whatever we could get our hands on and stitch it or ducttape it together”.

For Shaman armor, I’ve love to see more “chains” and that sort of stuff. Hunter armor, I think sporting armor that “looks like a wearable trophy” is fine. But with the Evoker hitting the scene, I feel like there’s definitely a massive.

For one, what obviously would fit is to have more subtle “scale-mail/armor” weaved into otherwise more regal clothes and robes. But also, I feel like it would be a great place to maybe weave in some more Greco-Roman designs; kind of like the low-level Mail from Vanilla, a combination of chain armor, sandals, togas – you could do some cool stuff there, but a bit more “ornamental” looking than other armor-types.

Just some feedback!

I would like some options like that! I do feel though that we should have some special things like the jacket be available to all classes, but I do agree having some other pieces be mail specific would be nice.

With evoker’s now being a thing, the first ever mail wearing class added in since vanilla, it would be a nice change of pace.

Honestly what makes me happy about evokers is that we might get some decent mail options I can use on my hunter.

There are two reasons I stopped playing my Hunter after WoD.

  1. The class felt worse to play and more restricted for me after the Legion changes and change to survival.

  2. The horrible transmog Hunters get year after year with little to no decent looking sets added for whole expansions, let alone anything I consider awesome.

Agreed having mained a bmhunter since I started in MoP. They did have more of a variety during that expac. Too bad they just let it slide.

a jacket like armor could work for plate users like DA: I

I’d prefer mail that isn’t all metal dresses and skirts.

The real question is when can we get some decently designed boots?

Also, can we get some more shorts and casual wear for mogs?

I’ll never stop campaigning for fully unlocked transmog, but outside of a few sets I always seem to use old vanilla sets for my mail characters.

That seemed to be the only time mail felt like it had identity to me. Visually it was heavier than leather but lighter than plate.

Yeah, they’re really going to have to stop making mail armor look awful now that Evoker is in town.

Completely agreed, they really NEED to have full options available. Maybe “robes” are hidden (or just cut-off at the chest), but otherwise it will give us a LOT more room to really make our Evokers unique.

I would buy a four year sub if they added a toggle to the transmog window to cut robes off at the waist. Actually one of my top three demands.

Kilts that aren’t floor length skirts would be nice. lol

I agree with this. A BM Hunter is my other character I spend my most time on and the gear just never…feels good?..to me. Warlock and mage sets and cloth armor in general has a beautiful look. But I feel that mail is often missing something.

Typically my transmogs for my BM Hunter are things that hide a lot of the mail aspect of the outfit and look more like the cloth items as a result. (Though, never a robe. I just don’t like robes. Personal preference.)
